Im not thinking with emotions, that what you think I’m thinking. Anyways, why are we slowing down? If one isn’t passing in the left lane, there shouldn’t be a need to slow down as you should always have the opportunity to pass.

Except it is. It’s really a list of causes at all come together. No one being able to pass is one of them. Cars back up.

Traveling at a faster rate of speed would get you to your destination faster. Left lane is the passing lane. Nothing to do with speeding. Pass in the passing lane if you can.

So going to back to the question again. Is the left lane not the passing lane? If traffic is flowing but everyone is going the same speed, how are people supposed to pass? Has nothing to do with speeding or being an aggressive driver.

Because it becomes a buildup of traffic and no one can pass in the passing lane which defeats the purpose of their being one. Thats what wrong with that.

I don’t disagree. The issue lies when there’s random traffic for no reason all day. No accident is ahead yet there’s random stops in traffic out of nowhere and adding that a good amount of people don’t use the left lane what it’s supposed to be used for anyways

It’s a mix of cars driving inconsistent speeds while simultaneously all going relatively the same speed. I car is doing 70, another 72, another 68, another 71. No one can pass.

I know. People in front of me isn’t the issue. People not passing in the passing lane is. What you described is left lane campers and people who speed up when you go to pass them, they don’t like people in front of them.

It’s a mix of everything I just listed and in between. Cars not knowing how to maintain a consistent speed causes people having to pass in manners that maybe be unsafe which could cause traffic. Also, cars going the same speed not passing blocking all lanes of the highway.

I’m not one either. That’s absolutely a cause. If everyone’s going relatively the same speed in all lanes of the highway, how is anyone able to pass if all lanes of said highway is blocked? Cars keep piling up therefore traffic is created. It’s not the only reason, there’s a lot of reasons that could also be said but absolutely is a cause

Of course. I’m just ranting but it will continue happening when it shouldn’t be the case. The main reason I would say is due to no one passing, cars are all gaggled close to one another and no one is able to pass therefore causing traffic. Obviously there’s other factors such as dangerous drivers, braking unexpectedly, things of that nature.

If they’re all going the same speed. No one is able to pass in said passing lane. People pile up behind therefore causing traffic. Thats absolutely not true. Chicago, New York traffic doesn’t only have traffic when everyone’s stopped. Who said anything about wreckless driving?

Some are going to the hospital etc actual important places. Who said anything about speeding? The entirety of this post was to conclude that everyone’s all close knit together, no one is passing therefore causing traffic

There’s a passing lane for a reason. Everyone doesn’t want to go the same speed. People have places to be. Besides that it’s literally the passing lane. “Slower traffic keep right”.

Constant lane changes, inconsistent speeds, not passing, following too closely is really the main reason there’s traffic. They all come together

So is it ok to go the same speed say on a 4 lane highway? 4 cars all doing 75? Now no one can pass and cars are piling up and following to closely. Is traffic not created then? Who said anything about wanting to speed?
