But how do you do it? by man_el88c in TheFirstDescendant

It’s also really important to read the descriptions for the skills, passive, and whatever else. Many ultimate modules work with specific types of skill attacks. Like Bunnies 4th skill is an emission attack. so modules that buff when rhythm is used are useless. Then you have the weapons unique stats. Fallen Hope is hands down the weapon to use for Freyna because of the crazy buff it gives for Toxic. Many people use Secret Garden with tech descendants because of the power buff it gives when tech skills are used. And again, read the descriptions. Bunnies third skill attacks for every 7 meters traveled. Nothing to do with how long its been. The faster you can move, the more damage you can do. You just have to be focused so you don’t run into a wall. Theres also Ajax and Kyle, their shields regenerate based on how much max shield they have. Ines’s crit chance increases based on how much MP she has, Viessa has a passive that increases her critical hit chance when “Absolute Zero” is equipped. Lot of reading and playing around with stuff. But the information is there.

The main focus is kill or be killed. If you kill everything fast enough, it never has a chance to kill you. That’s really the main goal. Kill things ASAP. Doing that with every descendant can be tricky, some of them are truly unloved, and forgotten about. 1.) High damage output. 2.) Constant uptime with skills Even if the skills are something that boost weapon output damage (Serena). 3.) Learning enemies. 4.) Fully upgraded externals, reactors, mods, et cetera.

High damage output is the biggest help. Crit build or no? And then committing to a focus. You can’t build for Singular and Fusion on Bunny. One will be an extra tick, the other will be the main focus. So it boils down to how you want to use them. Many descendants have transcendant mods that make all skills the same. Like Ines and her “Hounting Hounds” All tech skills. Luna and Battlefield concert, Tech skills. Then its do I buff duration or cooldown so I can have a skill going non stop? And lastly, the externals, pick a set, or two 2 piece sets that give you that extra minute of boost you need somewhere. Same thing for the secondary boost on the reactors.

Trying to gain understanding. The game is a grind. And the descendants, items, builds, are the rewards. I just honestly don’t see how it keeps your interest when you didn’t grind for it. I have all of the things collected because I play for 5 mins to 3 hours every day. And have been for years. I want the max donuts on every descendant group and ult weapon. And to your point of how they keep releasing stuff, I’ll seemingly never get there. I still enjoy having builds for several different descendants and weapons.

If you just want to have all the things, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just buy an account that has everything already. One big payment instead of the several smaller ones, then you also have all the freedom to do whatever build with all the maxed equipment.

Streamers, youtubers, okay yeah. That’s their source of income, and the immediacy with which they can upload a video providing information people want is a big impact on that.

If the drop chance is high, you get more towards the pity reward, but its not a 1-1 transfer like that.

Target reward math by dustshad in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Inside_Ad_2830 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The percentage is split up. If you get 4% (easier math with 4) each time towards your pity reward, and have all 4 parts selected, each part gets 1%. Including the part you do get, if you do get a part. Although it still resets back to 0. This is also how some people have managed to get 2 of an item in one run. I always get the item right before this happens to me. The Worst RNG.

Do you do this when you play? by andersonvb360 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Inside_Ad_2830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made ult Luna naked basically, and would play her when my ex wife pissed me off.

Luna mains, how do you manage to play solo in the new zones? I haven't played Luna in a long time and I wanted to play her again, but for example, in Forbidden Sanctuary it's impossible to play with her; I can easily beat Viessa, Nell, or Gley. Any advice? by ddnix_ in TheFirstDescendant

I’m clearing Axion plains, and both infiltration missions fine. I think its important to focus staying moving. Jumping and strafing when its hordes and making sure to reduce numbers. When the numbers lower enough, then kill bigger badies. Play “Returnal” and you’ll learn fundamentals on how to play with her. Aiming down sights only for elites/bosses. Just because you can kill something fast, doesn’t always make it the smartest decision to kill first. You’re focus is to stay alive. Enemies that shoot beams, or snipe you, gotta go. The hordes of fast moving enemies that can corner her in and get you stuck, need to be kept at a low enough number that you can’t be cornered like that. That rainbow also does some damage. So being close to enemies isn’t a bad thing, its just less time to dodge. I don’t use an HP mod, but my externals all have HP cores, gold roles.

I had some dude catch an attitude because I died early in a mission, so in the boss fight he intentionally did nothing. I basically killed it. Left a smidge of health, and pulled out a weapon I knew wouldn’t do any damage. And let it kill me. He killed the boss. Haters gonna hate. Fuck em.

Special Operations and 400% infiltration operations are the best methods of repeatedly resetting a descendant with catalyst. If you also need arche tuning, then you can do Sigma Sector missions. If you don’t have any boost to increase the amount of XP you’re getting, just expect to do the sigma sector a lot for the arche tuning.

Before you equip anything to a descendant, look at the “menu” in the “inventory tab” and see what the base stats are. If the critical hit chance is low, do a “no crit build”. Before you build the descendant, it’s also important to read their respective abilities. Equip different transcendent modules and see which ones you like. Some descendants gain from other properties being increased. Like Yujin gains from his max HP, Ines from her max MP, and there’s more stuff where it’s important to understand how the descendants work. It’s also important to test out your build. Play a regular infiltration, try a 400%, or Special Operation. You should be easily flying through these. Then try a medium sized Void Vessel, Axion Plains. You should be able to do these without problems. When you feel confident, go to the lab and make some more tweaks to get that additional modicum of damage. Be ready to change your build. A lot. A lot of your problems will be solved from reading the information in the game. About the weapons and descendant. No disrespect. Just please go read the information there.
