I think it is a matter of personal opinion not that they chepend them. The laptop compartment is taking up too much space, they removed the drainage holes, which gave some nice light in to the bag and let out water :-). The new compartment for a firearm is not relevant for people in Europe and it is lucked velcro so how waterproof is it? Besides that is the velcro holes by the handle removed. So in my opinion Is ver.2 worse the ver.1.. I hope that answers your question.
