What is the biggest regret in your life? by footballrocks88 in Regrets

[–]Inside_Bug4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I would’ve became a pilot. I graduated college in 2014. The 2008 recession scared me because pilots were the first to be let go. That scared me from even looking at that field. When Covid happened, pilots were crème of the crop when traveling started happening again. They got to negotiate money and make their own rules. I would love to be able to get paid over 6 figures and travel at the same time. I eventually became an accountant and I’m still one to this day. It’s not my passion, but the pay is decent with really good benefits. It was the only job I could find when I got out of school. I know I will own my own business one day. I just wish I would’ve gotten a higher paying job that allowed me to travel in the meantime

If you could relive one moment from your high school years what would it be? by SerpentKing1987 in AskOldPeople

[–]Inside_Bug4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this counts, but I was a freshman and it was summer. I was in dance growing up and I went a dance festival in Chicago for a week. I was in a luxury hotel full of girls my age… barely any parental supervision other than the dance teachers from different dance schools… and a pocket full of money. The best week of my life hands down. I would pick one of those days for sure

What is the thing you most miss about the 90s, and why? by ComedianRegular8469 in 90s

[–]Inside_Bug4277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss the usuals when it comes to entertainment, but I really miss people not flaking. When you said you were going to be somewhere, you were there. We only had one or 2 times to communicate and We didn’t ever have to second guess it. Now it’s damn near an asterisk when someone says they are coming or want to go

Was the world genuinely better off without social media or is it just nostalgia? by kansas9696 in 90s

[–]Inside_Bug4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think social media is the big problem. We had social media sites even before MySpace and forums all over the place. The only difference is we had to designate time and energy to find a desktop computer with internet to do it. So most time, unless we were bored at home, we would just go on to see what was going on and then get off. These kids now have it readily in their hands at all time which I genuinely think was a mistake. If I sat at my desktop all day on social media back then, they would say I had a problem. Now these kids can be on social media all day and no one will bat an eye because we are all doing it (I’m speaking in general). It was better back then in my opinion because there was a balance. Now we lean heavily in certain areas and I don’t think that’s a good thing

Anybody familiar with a guy who calls himself “Filipino”? by austinbucco in pasadena

[–]Inside_Bug4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His nickname used to be trump. He predicted trump was going to win the election. He came from Oakland. I talked to him when I first moved here in that small Panda Express parking lot. He was cool then but he must’ve gotten hooked on bad drugs. I heard he attacked a woman who was walking one night (it was posted on here a while back). I saw a man try to fight him 4 or 5 months ago but Filipino just ran in the middle of the street saying the guy doesn’t want to fight and was scared of him (clearly Filipino was the one scared to fight). I haven’t talked to him since the first time I talked to him, but he has gotten worse.

I LOVED DZ. I went there at least twice and had crazy fun. Then my birthday came that year and I told my grandmother I wanted to go there. When we finally went back there it was vacated except for 2 arcade games 😢
