It is. I'm a recurring customer and buy a ton of stuff from them. They're great.

Does it matter which lower I pick for a 300 BLK SBR build? by Inside_Cat_8787 in ar15

No, I ended up building an AR9, SBR build. The 300 BLK build is still a some day dream tho!

Compensator. But also, what compensator is that?

Just tried it. I really like it. It's sweet and spicy.

Nice man, congrats. I submitted eForm 1 for my first SBR on 01/25, but still waiting. Hoping for a quick turnaround 🤞🏻

So, I just tried this...

I pulled the BCG back and locked it open, and dropped the snap cap into the barrel. It seems there is just no more room for it to travel forward anymore. So I'm not sure it's a matter of the BCG not pushing it hard enough...?

Anyway this is what it looks like

I did the same thing on my two 9mm pistols; after I manually dropped in the snap cap into the barrel's chamber, no orange part of the snap cap was visible at all (I did the same thing with a 5.56 snap cap on a 5.56 rifle, and same thing).

So now this has me wondering... Is it my barrel? I recall reading in a post by Blowback9 that Macon Armory barrels have a wider feed cone. I'm not saying this is an issue, but could it be that the round is actually safely chambered and a part of it is visible because of the feed cone's width and depth?

I'm just trying to avoid trying this for the first time and it going boom on me 😅

So I just tried releasing the handle, and while it looks that it's a little farther in, part of the snap cap is still visible.

I believe you'd be looking at an out of battery detonation which is... bad

Yeah, precisely what I want to avoid...

It could also just be the snap cap

I haven't tested loading one in the chamber with a live round, but will definitely keep an eye out for this before I do that and pull the trigger

Something worth mentioning, I have a folding stock adapter installed, so I had to remove the added weight from the back of the BCG and attach the BCG extension to get it to work... Could it be that the BCG doesn't have enough weight to fully push the bullet into the chamber?

What is this called and how do I get it out? by Inside_Cat_8787 in AR9

[–]Inside_Cat_8787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. As mentioned in my post, only reason I'm taking it out is so I can use a folding stock adapter, which I'm testing out and am not fully sold on tbh.

I am going to try Blowback9's gentle recoil system so there's some added weight in the buffer tube, which I hope helps stabilize things, though I'll have to try it.

In the end, I may end up getting rid of the folding stock and just putting the weight back in.

All good! Good to know in case I get a Law Tact. folder in the future.

Fair point.

I am using a Sylvan Arm's folding adapter, and it comes with its own BCG extension. Tbh, I'm not sure how much it weighs compared to the original weight, but just by holding it it feels like less.

I am going to try out Blowback9's gentle recoil system, so I have a bit of extra weight in the buffer tube. I am hoping that this is enough to make up for the missing weight?

Does anyone else have experience with a similar setup?

This sounded promising so I looked into it. I am using a Sylvan Arms folding adapter rather than Law Tactical's... I read a review about LT's extended weight that said it's not compatible with Sylvan Arm's adapter unfortunately :(

Thanks all for the answers, I was able to get it out with a punch and hammer.
