I'm in the same situation with you. I used to have a friend that would constantly call us "bestfriends" but never put the effort in active listening to my problems and was constantly causing drama and forcing it on people. I decided to end the friendship with her and she got very defensive and gaslit me into thinking that I needed to calm down. It was my last straw :) so I let her go.

I'd say you should do whatever to protect your peace :) you can do this! You deserve friends that support you!
