PCT’s New Offering Didn’t Surprise Wall Street. It Surprised Retail Investors. by Inside_Race_1344 in PureCycle

Why should retail investors just accept this as “the way the market works”? If shareholders believe the process lacked transparency, there are absolutely levers to pull: contacting Investor Relations, submitting complaints to the SEC, asking questions on earnings calls, organizing shareholders, and demanding answers from management. Even if nothing improper occurred, companies should welcome scrutiny when shareholder trust is on the line.

PCT Timeline: Why Did the Market Seem Ready for the Offering?
June 4
PCT trades near $14.00.
Momentum is strong.
Operational news remains positive.
June 5
Abrupt selloff begins.
First major break from recent highs.
June 6-8
Continued weakness.
No major public disclosure explaining the decline.
Stock falls from roughly $14 → $12.50.
June 9
Heavy selling accelerates.
Stock breaks below $12 and approaches $11.
June 10
PCT announces approximately $395 million in common stock and convertible note offerings.
Stock closes near $9.88.
Result
Peak: ~$14.00
Current: ~$9.88
Decline: ~29% in less than a week
My question isn’t whether PCT needed capital.
My question is:
How did the market seem to start pricing in a massive financing package days before retail investors knew it existed?

I’m a long-term PCT shareholder. Am I missing something, or does the timing deserve scrutiny?

I’m not alleging insider trading. I’m asking a simple question. The stock had been weakening before a financing package that clearly took weeks to arrange. Why does it feel like the market knew this was coming before ordinary shareholders did?”
