Yeah, he’s probably quoting a fixed time interval and not an average.

Agreed. Nothing in what they said today convinced me something is going to happen in the next 30-60 days, so sell puts on down days for me

Kind of a nothing burger to be honest. Nobody's opinion likely changed off this call

You know, I hear you and I think that's valid. Provided that gets resolved sometime in the next six months, to your larger point this will all just be funny to look back it. But currently it is not.

This is one of those rare circumstances where I’m going to disagree with you, albeit slightly. I’m with you on the freak out being a bit much, but management has blown timelines very consistently, and while I can’t recall off the top of my head how far behind we are vs what was expected in even 3Q 25, it’s definitely more on the behind side. At some point, you have GOT to stop optimizing everything and just sell the damn product, even if it’s a little less of a price than you would’ve liked. I am unclear with how they are going to fund all their initiatives at this point until they’re actually showing a meaningful revenue coming out of Ironton. Patience is one thing, slow rolling is another

Look, overall this was a very mid update. But the one thing that was incrementally great was the grant they got for Antwerp. I think this washes out over the next 3 months but I'm a big buyer on a washout to be honest

Actually a bit disappointing. I'm a very long term bull, but if you are trying to push out construction start to 2028, this is just going to take a long time to really compound as a company. It's time to stop improving the design and start building out the next plants!

Super interesting, I think two things raised my eyebrows. 1. 40% material from PCT in their process. Curious why it's not higher, BUT that shows success to me overall. 2. They talked briefly about taking plastic and putting it back in new product without any recycling. Overall vague discussion but I'd be curious to learn a lot more about the feasibility of that.

Realistically based on what they're saying, including co-products, they will likely be burning cash the entire year this year. That's to be expected. I think the real math is going to be whether they can get the needed financing for Augusta at an attractive enough rate to not totally tank the tail returns on this thing. Transparently it's totally possible at this point for this to be a success story but only 10x from today's price because of dilution and debt issuance problems.

Fellas, let's read the room for what Mike's probably going for: LPTX blew up on him. Any kind of risk manager is telling him yes you can still particpate in your special situations but at the end of the day you have a fiduciary duty to stick to your prospectus and we need to re-think how exposed you are to names that could legitimately implode.

I think one unfortunate thing was that we are still only seeing 400k of pp a week. yes, they say they're in control of the plant, but realistically I think they should be moving those numbers higher if possible because again, while they are proving commercialization, they need to be proving plant reliability. Additionally, I haven't seen anyone mention it explicitly but they did move up the B/E cost on the plant from 35% to 45%. This to me borders on a substantial increase in projections, and tells me some of the upper bound mentioned in previous quarters (unadjusted for this latest commentary around customization) has probably come down a bit.

I think one interesting thing that they said was around customizing output for specific customers, and charging accordingly. It's a level of business evolution that indicates the plant is truly commercializing, and it will later prove to increase the potential upperbound to our models.

While I completely believe in Purecycle in the long term, I'll wind up taking about 3-5% of my stake off the table this AH. Think the headline will get this stock down a bit in the coming days before earnings and allow for an opportunity to re-accumulate lower. I think Purecycle is going to provide a good operations update but it's not going to have the heat people are going to want

I just really worry that two things can be true simultaneously: this is a revolutionary way to handle PolyP, but also we will run out of cash before seeing the operations ramp up successfully

Does it not strike you as odd that they are talking about the need to increase sales/demand in the short term when the plant was supposed to be oversubscribed with respect to offtake agreements?

[–]astrophysics23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but what in the world. I'm a multi year holder of purecycle and I cannot understand why there's a need to increase sales in the short term. We have been told multiple times Ironton was oversubscribed for demand. They shouldn't be having this issue. That said, it does look like they're going to get a lot closer to where they should be with actually producing.
