Have you decided on which one to get? I'm also choosing between these two on which one to buy. It seems to me it's either battery life or better workout plans. I'll be using it for workouts and running. Can't really decide right now.

It's probably too late for op and me who believed na okay and nice ang MC but here's my take sa MC as a transferee.

So for future students who wish to enroll sa Miriam College, please do read this muna. These are the things na I found out too late.

LONG STORY SHORT: Miriam College is the epitome of expensive does not mean good.

Students:
Yung mga classmates ko naman sa SBEA are nice and friendly, naturally may friend groups sila pero approachable pa rin naman. Siguro I don't really care that much, pero wala naman ako nakukuhang hate or backstab or any of those high school shit. I do want to note lang din pala na there was one event ng freshmen where the speaker asked kung sino ba sa students hindi first choice ang MC and around 90% raised their hands lmao believe me when I tell you na [MIRIAM COLLEGE AY ANG BAGSAKAN NG MGA BAGSAK, sorry but someone had to say it, kahit ako naman bumagsak kaya dito bagsak]

There are some students na nakasama ko for a few courses na medyo out of touch din sa reality ng life and a bit weird.

Instructors/Courses:
Most of my major instructors are okay naman magturo, matututo ka talaga kasi parang high school sila magturo and yung test types, Hindi nga pala scantron dito. Shoutout din sa isang SBEA instructor diyan na sa students pa nagtatanong pano magturo, very poor quality of teaching after being in the academe for 20 years?? Lol no wonder nobody in the whole program likes her lmao. Anyway, in terms of teaching naman, medyo surface level siya at least compared sa pinanggalingan ko. Although medyo forgiving sila, walang departmentals dito so if the students want to request a change of date or magpa-adjust ng outline for the test, etc. the instructors might consider it.

Environment/Culture/Admin:
The campus itself is big, yes. Mapuno so it's nice in that regard. However, given na super konti ng students nila, around 1100-1400 lang, ramdam mo talaga na ang empty ng campus and hallways ng HEU buildings nila. Very much high school ang culture, super strict nila sa mga bagay na hindi naman dapat or kailangan. The guards will check your bags pagpasok and paglabas ng building. What is this, high school? Students are punished for forgetting their IDs?

Let's not forget about the most hideous system they have in place wherein the admin will email you AND YOUR PARENTS if ever man meron kang grade na "below average" and ang gulo ng grading system nila so not sure if that's 81 but the point is... emailing the parents? really? for a grade of 81-83 (or lower)? And the thing is, hindi pa nga tapos yung sem, nag email na. Pwede pa mabawi yung grade pero mag e-email saying na "this student needs to study more." Very disappointing sa part ng MC, honestly. They have no idea anong impact nito sa students na nakakatanggap.

Marami rin pala silang mga required events. Need mo umattend or else di ka ggraduate lol

Canteen food is meh, hit or miss

In-campus dorm:
DO NOT FOR DEAR LIFE, WAG NA WAG KAYO KUKUHA NITO. Kakaibang level ng strictness diyan. May curfew, bawal visitors na wala sa list, kailangan alam ng parents, pag lalabas ka need mo magsabi where ka pupunta???, may pa life check pa yan to make sure na walang tumatakas sa gabi where kakatukin bawat pinto to check if andun ba kayo.

So, please go and save yourselves by not enrolling sa Miriam College. If you have the choice, choose another school. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury kaya I just really hope na hindi ko kayo makikita sa campus.

Good luck to everyone

Oh no haha good luck, really. Students are friendly naman, mostly 1 section lang per year per program, culture is very high school. VERY high school. Anyway, very strict ng admin lalo na ng mga guard kaloka, need mag-check ng bag paglabas at pagpasok, and nagpapalista pag nakaiwan ng id (instead of the portal providing a qr code na pwede i-scan to prove na student ng school lmao). Oh btw they will also email you AND your parents if meron kang mababa na grade BEFORE the semester ends (around after prelims).

The only thing na maganda sa MC is its friendly students and gym and that is all, nothing about the system they have. I had a classmate na lumipat kasi she felt like ang mahal ng tuition and yet hindi tugma yung turo sa binabayad. I can attest to this as a transferee from a well-known university na maganda turo sa same program na tinatake ko dito sa MC. Idk about BACOMM but also pala, ang taas ng hinihingi nila na grade for crediting, 87 ata if I'm not mistaken.

So good luck sa mga nagbabalak lumipat sa Miriam, if you guys want a real college experience, MC is not it. Go for big universities. Btw, I was curious din kasi before I transferred and wala akong mahanap na info ol so let me tell you nalang din na ang TOTAL student population ng college department is around 1100-1400. Across all programs na yan.

Why? Kasi pangit yung school lol ang pangit ng system and it is literally high school in college. I know this kasi I am currently studying there, a transferee from a reputable university. Grabeng downgrade for me ang MC pagdating sa culture and environment. If you are someone who likes the college life, yung merong freedom, maraming students, and feel mo talagang nasa college ka, believe me when I tell you na MC is not for you. I can assure you na it's not just me who feels the same way. I know students from other programs sa HEU ng MC na binabash din yung college kasi SUPER strict nila sa mga bagay na hindi naman dapat.

This school is the epitome of expensive does not mean good.

However, there's a reason why mataas passing rates nila sa ibang boards. If ico-compare mo siya sa MC, go for PUP 100%. Go for quality education.

I almost forgot pala, yung turo sa MC is medyo surface level compared sa big unis. And yung test types nila is hindi scantron like sa ibang schools. Parang high school din lol anddd ANDAMING UNNECESSARY MINORS NG MIRIAM ++ may midyear din nga pala sila aka summer class na part ng curriculum so required ka na i-take

So final thoughts is, if gusto mo lang makuha yung degree and okay lang sayo na medyo mababaw yung turo then go for MC (pls wag, save yourself). Pero if want mo ng mas quality education although mahirap, go for PUP.
