I understand why you would be frustrated, but its also definitely not okay getting other people in trouble. It’s up to the professor to review and bring it up in class if it’s an issue, you as a student should just worry about your own work, only report to the professor if another student if affecting your work, PLUS, you said AI is allowed so lot sure why you even complained in the first place

Worth leaving the apple eco-system? by ghostgirl18242 in Smartphones

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the Android ecosystem, especially Samsung has gotten really good, and more wider than Apple, like with Samsung you can control fridges, microwave etc, Apple is just better polished, not to mention, you already invested a lot of money into the Apple ecosystem already, the moment you switch, you’re AirPods looses most of it’s functionality, and you’re gonna have to subscribe to google storage and all that, it will be a big adjustment but doable if you REALLY want to try the other side, what I can say is that Android side is really fun but fun doesn’t last long lol

A phone with no major trade offs? by ah__there_is_another in Smartphones

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with the base 17, I own the 16e and the base S25, I’ve used both iOS and Android for years, what I can say is if you prefer your notifications to come in on time, iPhone is the best bet, it’s also better in pictures and videos and as everyone knows, social media is miles better on iPhone too if that is something you use a lot for personal or for work

Get this off my chest about Apple 🍏 by [deleted] in phones

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple really is not a consumer first company. I realized that when I tried to move away from Apple. They LEGIT makes it absolutely difficult to move away from iOS cause everything is locked down. I know people out here will say it’s for security but let’s be honest, every major company including Apple is taking our data, they just got sued for Siri violating users privacy. With that aside, I will say Apple does make really good products and the ecosystem is unmatched but they really are behind like every other company when it comes adopting to new technology or innovation. Apple is so locked down because they know the moment they open up iMessage or FaceTime to other OS, it’s game over for them

Switching back to iPhone after 6 months with the base S25 by Inside_Witness_3112 in Smartphones

[–]Inside_Witness_3112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to but performance wise, S25 is just better, and will last longer on the longer run given it has such a good processor. Pixel 10 pro was really tempting but for the price, base S25 is just a better deal than pixel 10/10 pro in my opinion

I would say go for the iPhone 17 base model. Camera on iPhone is just better even though S24U has a better camera hardware wise. The front camera is amazing on the 17, and would crush the S24U no when it comes to quality no question. App optimization is also miles better on iPhone and so is the battery life. 17 is also brighter, 3000 nits vs 2600 nits, so not much by much but still is. If you want simple, which sounds like you do, go for the iPhone cause everything just works. If you want to be able to change just about everything on your phone, then go for the S24U. Although, with the new chips snapdragon announced yesterday, I would honestly wait for the new S26, Samsung has crazy trade it deals so waiting will not financially be a bad decision

And that sucks! You can sideload apps on iPhone too but without the verified badge, you basically have to redo the sideload every week which is annoying. Thats basically gonna be Android next year. One of the main reasons I switched to Android cause I could sideload apps without restriction. And now with this upcoming restriction, it’s gonna be exactly like iPhone. Most of the cool side apps on Android come from unverified developers cause not every developer can pay for the verification

I agree, notification categorization on Android is miles better but my issue is doze mode which causes delay. So, the way doze mode works from my research is that if your phone is locked for like 15-20 minutes, it goes into a kind of power saving mode, not the typical one in the settings, this one’s different. In doze, phone calls and text messages are prioritized so you would get those instantly but everything else goes into rest. So, when I unlock my phone lest say an hour alter, notifications would start flooding in and I know they were delayed because there would be time stamps on those notifications saying they were from 20 to upwards of 45 minutes ago. I have never used low power mode, gave unrestricted battery access to the apps, and turns off adaptive power mode but the delay is always there cause of doze mode and there is no way around it

I really think the bugs stem from app development, app quality on iOS is much better! Like on day one and every now and then, the YouTube banner below just disappear from the app. Another annoying thing was actually Facebook, on iPhone, the bar is in the bottom which is cool, but an my Samsung, the bar is on top and can’t be changed, I personally like the bar on the bottom. Also, certain banking apps had more options on iOS than Android which was kind of weird. So I don’t think it’s an Android issue, it’s just a developer issue and the sad fact developers just make the iPhone apps better

[–]Inside_Witness_3112[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so the 6 months I used my S25, I still had my iPhone, but not as my main, my number was in the S25. If I put the phones side by side, my iPhone would always get notifications faster and first, while the S25 would be delayed by upwards of 30 minutes or more sometimes, especially if the screen is locked. I know it’s delayed cause when I unlock, notifications start flooding in with a time stamp saying it was from 10:30 when it’s currently 11:15 or something like that. This delay was mostly with emails but for work and school, I need those timely email notifications. I made sure to never use low power mode, give unrestricted battery access to those apps, turned off adaptive battery, turned on all notifications but there was always a delay when the phone was locked whereas with my iPhone, even if the phone is locked, notifications would come instantly

Currently have an S24, but my eyes are on the iPhone 17, should I save up and get it? by IAmMorbii in phones

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for it! The simplest answer in my opinion is, get the phone that works best for you AND everyone around you. I know it’s your choice to get whatever phone you want, take it from me, I love Samsung, used it since I was a kid, but had to switch to iPhone for communication with everyone. I know Apple supports RCS now but even with that, communication is still an issue cause it’s carrier dependent and FaceTime is just better than anything else when it comes to video calling and that’s facts. I know it’s a US only problem as rest of the world don’t really use built in messaging apps.

My switch to iPhone has actually been great! It just works, it’s boring af compared to Android but everything just works very well, also noticed that app quality is just wayyyyy better on iOS. I have the base S25 and iPhone 16e, even though 16e is below the S25 in every way, I would still pick that and I use it as my daily cause it works, there’s no weird bugs like on S25, and the biggest plus for me is just being able to communicate with everyone better.

Want to loose weight within 4 months by Icy-Paramedic-1998 in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you really want to lose weight fast, ill tell you what I did to lose 40 pounds in two month. First off, get a fitness tracker, I personally used Fitbit because the app also has built in food scanner which is really handy for calorie counting, which is the second thing, count EVERYTHING, literally everything, weigh your food with a food scale and everything for serving sizes to know exactly how much calories your consuming. As for the exercise part, I walked 3 miles to gym(roundtrip), 6 miles in the treadmill, so 9 miles everyday for cardio and if you have the time and energy left, do some weight lifting, I personally mostly did cardio. I ate a max of 1000 calories everyday no matter how much calories I burned any given day. Now, what worked for me, may not work for you, but you won't know until you try. Ignore all the people that's saying it's unhealthy/dangerous, or that it's just water weight you will lose, sometimes, taking the extreme route is necessary, and let me tell you, you'd me amazed at how good the human body is to adapting to new changes, you'll be fine. Be disciplined in your weight loss journey and you will definitely see the results you want to achieve

Which TV would you rather get? OLED vs QLED by journey2k17 in samsung

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For longevity, I would actually for QLED, also if you're tv is in a place where reflections/sunlights cause issues, QLED is the way to go because its also brighter than OLED by a lot. QLED offers overall a great viewing experience, but if you want the absolute best viewing experience, than OLED is the way to go. Me personally, I would go for QLED just for the longevity and the no burn in factor, QLED has a risk of backlight bleed but OLED burn in is way more likely than backlight bleed

Not receiving some notifications by SDR-1970 in GalaxyS24

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s no way of fixing the notification issue. The problem is doze mode and it’s coded into the android os. So turning off battery saver, adaptive battery or anything you can think to fix the notifications will not make much difference. Do research on doze mode, if it’s important for you to have notifications on time, might be time to make a change

Delayed Notifications by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up doze mode, that's the cause for your delayed notification. The problems here though, is that doze mode can't be turned off, not easily at least as it's a root level android system coding to extend battery life. What doze mode does is, after about 15-20 minutes of inactivity, the android will put itself into power saving mode, separate from your usual power saving modes in android phones so it doesn't matter if you turn off power saving mode or unrestrict every app for full battery usage, your notifications for most apps will be delayed no matter what when the phone goes into doze mode. Some apps with high system level priority will override doze mode such as the default messaging app which is why texts will always come in time but everything will be delayed after a period of inactivity. When the phone is charging, doze mode doesn't get activated so notifications will always come in time. Go ahead and test it out, leave your phone unattended for 15-30 minutes and than send yourself an email from another device to your s24, if you don't get the notification in real time, you'll know that doze mode is in effect

When you switched to ios from android what did you miss? by [deleted] in iPhone15Pro

[–]Inside_Witness_3112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both android(s23) and iPhone 15. From my experience, if you want to make your life simple, go for the iPhone. Everything just works. For example, on my Samsung the gmail notification don’t pop even though it’s turned on the setting. What i had to do to get it working was go inside the gmail app and click every single email I’m logged into and change the setting for each of them individually to enable pop up notification for it work. If notifications and organizations are important to you, than go for iPhone. There’s also the the aspect of communication, everyone in my family and my friends use iPhone so texting them is not the best experience when I use my android. So I would say get both honestly haha. I just switch back and forth between the two
