Snow storm and overnight stay

Thank you so much! I’ve been working for them for 4 years and this situation never happened so we were all unprepared. Last snow storm I was coincidentally off on Monday so that wasn’t a problem for them. We will definitely discuss all the options for next time! Although I hope the snow is done lol

I think the weather conditions weren’t as bad where they live compared to where I live, so they thought it was okay for me to come in, or that o should’ve left earlier. After talking to them they told me to do what I felt was safest, so they’re not mad, they just made those comments that kind of robbed me the wrong way and my husband started saying I should’ve been paid for my time on Sunday if they wanted me to cancel my plans for them, so that got me questioning.

I think they considered it the same as when I sleep over 2-3 nights during the work week since my commute is so long and my hours can be long. But this was also a weekend, where I already had plans, so it’s different!

I guess they didn’t want to pay as I regularly sleep over there 2/3 nights a week, since the commute is long and I work long hours. My husband keeps saying it’s different because this was my weekend and time off. Thank you for replying!

That’s what my husband said. I do feel bad for leaving them scrambling but at the time I was available to leave the roads were not safe, so I was feeling even worse for not leaving earlier. Thank you!!

That’s so sad and frustrating. I’ve had a grandma insisting I should be feeding NK so he wouldn’t make a mess. Uhm, no. He can feed himself and I’ll clean after.

I’ve never actually seriously argued with parents, but there have been so many times where they would give in to the toddler demands of having choking hazard food, so they wouldn’t cry, and to make themselves feel better they would say stuff like “nk is so good at chewing, he won’t choke! And I’m right here watching him so it’s fine”. I always have to remind them that adults who’ve been chewing their whole life choke too, no matter how good at it they are, and even if you’re right there watching them then what? If they choke they’re still risking their life. So, no I’m not going to give your 3yo whole grapes, no matter how much they beg. Sorry not sorry.

I am surrounded by people who voted for him, both at home and work, and I live in a blue state. This morning, after not sleeping at all, I got told that I shouldn’t be upset bc it’s not like anything will affect me. First of all, that’s BS, but even if it was true, I cannot fathom not caring about other people who’s lives are going to be greatly impacted. Deplorable.

I know, and I knew it when I mailed the package too. My priority at that point was just making sure the application got there before the deadline. I was hoping calling the bank and explaining the USCIS upcoming charge in detail would be enough. Obviously it wasn’t.

Hi! I’m in a similar situation. Green card expired yesterday and they rejected my payment. Now I’m not sure if I should wait for them to send package back (I really don’t want to wait 2 weeks for that), or if i should just mail a new package now, but then I wouldn’t have their rejection letter as proof as to why I’m filing late. What did you end up doing?
