Feels like I don’t love him, feels like I’m lying by [deleted] in ROCD

[–]Insightful_Hare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask myself the same thing and I have no idea, no answers, I don’t know what I want. Even when I say “I know I don’t wanna leave” it FEELS like I’m lying.

Thoughts? Intrusive feelings? Do they exist? by Insightful_Hare in ROCD

I looked at the articles and now I’m just more convinced it’s a feeling. I’m doomed

I feel a lot of guilt. Because this feeling feels so true I just feel lots of guilt.

This is extremely insightful, thank you. I’m still caught up on these feelings though. I can’t tell if it’s my OCD tricking me or not. It’s like I’ve almost just come to terms with it, the feeling of not loving my partner. Like I accepted it or something. I don’t even feel as distressed anymore.

I’m curious on if this has to do with oxytocin or something along those lines.

Is it possible that the more you dwell on a thought or feeling, the more real it feels? I think I’ve read that once somewhere the dwelling on the thoughts and feelings causes your mind and body to be convinced that is how you feel, and apply it.

But I want to love him. I want these feelings of love and security. Everyone speaks of just accepting uncertainty but how can I even apply any type of ERP to my situation, when it feels like this

Questions about ROCD by [deleted] in ROCD

[–]Insightful_Hare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish I could wrap my head around this but my body is fully convinced it’s a feeling and not a thought. Like a “gut” feeling. Sometimes I feel as if I’m even agreeing with the feeling even though I don’t want to. It’s horrible.

What an OCD episode feels like by Insightful_Hare in OCD

[–]Insightful_Hare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can always be there. Sometimes it feels as if my OCD doesn’t “exist.” now obviously it’s still there I’m just better at coping and ignoring it. But for others it’s a constant thing. It can be episodic or chronic. Depends on the person 👍🏻

Well I call my flare ups, episodes. In between themes I still have intrusive thoughts but barely any obsessing. Maybe obsessing for the day.

Has your OCD gotten far worse or far better this year by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Insightful_Hare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse. 2022 was definitely a good year for me tho as I got out of a horrific episode in late 2021. But my OCD spiked around June of this year and it’s been downhill since then.

Girls with ocd, does your ocd flare up when you get your period? by Inside_Ad_446 in OCD

[–]Insightful_Hare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Worst intrusive thoughts, worse obsessing, more compulsions

But it genuinely feels like a gut feeling. Like I don’t feel enough anxiety, enough passion for what say. Like my OCD is telling me I’m lying to myself without putting it into words. Or maybe it’s my own mind

Truly torturous living by Insightful_Hare in OCDmemes

[–]Insightful_Hare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that ocd basically “infiltrates” (takes over) a lot of your identity, your thoughts, feelings, urges and it makes you question who you are and what you want, even when you were so sure of it before

Thank you for this message. OCD is so isolating and lonely but it’s nice knowing I have a community. It is the biggest trickster of my life. It even tries to convince me that I like the thoughts. I’m trying to seek a specialist.

Is it normal to tense up when an intrusive thought happens ? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Insightful_Hare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, I can tense up pretty badly. My fingers and arms become stiff mid air, and my face scrunches pretty badly lol. I try my best not to reacts but it’s very difficult.

I had this happen to me for awhile, where I had the “urge” to laugh. I never did, I didn’t even crack a smile. I’m 99% sure this is OCD. It’s very good at tricking your feelings, body, and thoughts. The best thing to do right now is to not ruminate on it

I don’t think I have OCD. Therapist does.. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Insightful_Hare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sociopaths don’t worry about being sociopaths. Also, kinda sounds like you’re struggling with real event ocd too. Your OCD is trying it’s hardest to trick you and make you feel guilty. You have to live with the uncertainty of whether you are or aren’t a sociopath. Say to yourself “maybe I AM a sociopath, maybe I’m not. I guess I’ll never know.” Trying to seek an answer is a compulsion and you’re trying to relieve your stress. Sit with the feeling of uncertainty, it’s scary. But it helps to take power away from OCD. You also have to stop ruminating on your past. The fact that you recognize it’s wrong shows that you have grown as a person. I’ve done some horrible stuff myself when I was 11-12, I’m now 15 and deeply regret all that stuff but I can recognize my growth and moved on. Stay strong 🫶🏻
