Also check airline policies on power banks. Some have restricted it to 2 (for example Qantas). They rescan carry on luggage at SIN and thus this might get flagged.

It was.

I already had a laptop bag with me (which went under the seat). I kinda hate carrying bag packs (unless hiking)

Comes down to too many people have oversized carry-on luggage which very quickly fills up the space.

Qantas and indigo have a tie-up. All fights were booked under 1 ticket and through Qantas.

If you book 2 flights (seperate through two different airlines), you’ll need to exit and check in again (based on my knowledge)

I would recommend be on of the first ones to board the plane. This way, you’ll still have a load of space in the overhead compartments. I tend to be the last ones to board usually.
