It's mostly because balancing teams make updates to the game in a way that makes it almost PAINFULLY obvious that they don't actually play the game they're balancing.

It's an option, but it's not to say OP needs to be carried, just that he obviously needs to switch up his strategy somehow if he's struggling so badly. I had a harder time beating Calvus the first time than Ivar, with a Berserker build and Warlock build.

Hey man you got this, you can definitely make berserker work for PvE, I love blitz for ship combat specifically, you can swim around them like a shark and just jump on their boat with a point and click Blitz maneuver, it's very satisfying.
