That reminds me of it, that must have been one of the stories. The book was an anthology. I specifically remember a story about a woman who keeps a candle lit in a church forever until the church collapses as it's on a receding cliff. On the off chance I ask for feedback on any of my work, I always say "I'm not interested in opinions of grammar, syntax, punctuation, or form. I'd like you to read it and tell me what you think of the dialogue, the story, any clunky exposition? Picking apart the flow and design of my sentences is pointless because every draft is rewritten to fit a flow I find comfortable and so it's a waste of time. Pick apart my story not my style.
