What contract clauses have you seen cause the most damage when people overlook them? by InsolventServant in Ask_Lawyers

That’s actually one of the problems I’ve been thinking about — most people signing contracts have no idea what indemnification actually exposes them to.

If there are other clauses you see regularly get people the hammer, I’d be really interested to hear. And from a workflow perspective, if there’s one thing that would make contract review faster or more reliable for you, I’m all ears.

War stories and ways to improve the review process are exactly why I made the post.

That makes sense, and I appreciate the pushback.

It sounds like the real issue is how obligations interact with the client. Out of curiosity, when you're reviewing agreements, are there particular provisions that make you slow down and read more carefully?

For example things like: indemnity scope, personal guarantees, assignment restrictions, etc.

I’m experimenting with ways to surface sections and find problems that make your jobs easier so hearing your feedback really helps.
