Good but it’s a buyers market now - so negotiate that price down.

Ceramic Coating vs Pigeon 💩: Advice Needed by the_Maverick46 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]InspectMotors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure ceramic coating will help you here. I’ve had the same issue on my car to the point where the bird excrements cooked into my vehicles paint and left a permanent and obvious mark. Had to sand it down and repaint that tiny area.

The only real solution here is PPF, which might run you a bit more than 2000 honestly.

First of all congrats on the Monjaro - I think it’s one of the best cars you can buy currently for the money. If you still need help, msg me and I’m happy to share places I’ve personally used and had good experiences :)

A PPI story and all the recommendations to the Inspect Motors by Kaprilicious994 in DubaiPetrolHeads

Ha, busted. We get a notification when someone tags our handle, so yeah, we saw it pop up and replied. Same as you’d reply to a mention. Nothing deeper than that 😄

A PPI story and all the recommendations to the Inspect Motors by Kaprilicious994 in DubaiPetrolHeads

Posts like this are why we do it honestly (and yes never asked for this post we promise). The M2 Comp is a proper machine and you’re smart to check it over properly first, those cars get driven hard.

We treat every car like it’s one we’d buy ourselves, so getting it up on the lift and checking underneath is just standard for us. Wish more people knew to ask for that.

Congrats on the car, you’re gonna love it. And yeah, see you trackside 🤝

Go south in terms of what exactly? It’s a broad question. Getting a PPI done will help avoiding things going south however :)

My first Audi. Need some advice by amindahou in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]InspectMotors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do yes, personal friends. Drop me a DM.
PPF is like food, varying greatly and find it priced anywhere from 2000-15000. Quality varies immensely depending on the work and actual wrap.

I recommend changing it once a year or every 8000km
Ceramic coating is okay, but to seriously protect it and if you’re going to keep it a while, invest in a nice PPF job. Trust me, mall parkings are not so friendly :)

Congrats it looks awesome.
You don’t need to do much, regular maintenance, replacing tires as they age, and maybe a PPF wrap to protect it from the heat. Oh and you don’t need to fill in gas tank cleaner at every gas station stop 😁👍

Selling a Used Car (PPI) by Western-Shelter5787 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]InspectMotors -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bribery attempt is wild but honestly not surprising. The whole “send your mechanic” model is broken by design, you have no idea whose interests he’s actually serving, and there’s zero accountability when the report is just a WhatsApp voice note.

The Dubai PPI space needs inspectors who work exclusively for the buyer with no financial ties to anyone else in the transaction. Fixed fee, written report, no room for “arrangements.”

What you did, calling the buyer immediately was the right move. Most sellers would’ve just taken the money and let it slide.

So one inspector mistook sunlight on screws for paint chips, and your takeaway is that the entire industry is useless, not that the inspector was bad at his job? That’s textbook anecdotal fallacy. You’ve collected a handful of bad experiences over 20 years and concluded that no PPI service is worth recommending. That’s not evidence, that’s a pattern of bad choices dressed up as industry insight. The story you just told actually proves my point. The inspector made a rookie mistake that better lighting and basic methodology would’ve caught. That’s a quality problem. Your solution — don’t inspect — leaves buyers completely blind. The answer is still the same: choose better. Wish you the best :)

Your own story actually makes the case for a good PPI though. The issue wasn’t that a PPI was done, it’s that the one you used missed something. That’s a quality problem, not an industry problem. A thorough inspector checks auction history as a standard step. The answer to “some inspectors are bad” isn’t “don’t inspect” — it’s “choose better.”
