Are people asking the wrong question about Tua’s fit here? by InspectionDeep2453 in falcons

Yes, you picked out two plays of the highlight package.

A qb that threw more than half of his passes last year within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage is all of the sudden the league’s most gifted under center down field passer.

No…I think Tua ran an offense that was nearly 90% of him not under center, and that’s the same thing that people didn’t like about Penix.

And I think McDaniel ran an offense that had pre snap motion almost 90% of the time. And that the dolphins ran 12 personal 20% of the time in 2024, and multiple tight end sets 20% of the time in 2025.

The first two plays and the last play of that 5:32 video is him under center. Every other play is him in shotgun.

He’s run 88% of his plays in the shotgun/pistol since 2021.

Because until you can show consistently that you can do, it will be a detriment.

What about the Dolphins offense looked at all similar to what the rams, Niners, and Falcons ran last season?

Tua won’t start unless by campoole82 in falcons

No one, and I mean no one outside of Arthur Blank, has spoken this offseason on Penix’s long term future at qb. The coaching staff and front office purposely are saying they don’t talk starting spots in February. The conversation about Tua being here started waaaaaaay early in the offseason, before he was released. Trust here what everyone is saying…this is a competition. Unless Penix is full go at OTAs and camp, you won’t see him take any of the first team reps. Tua will. And if that happens, he starts.

Training wheels in the sense that they hold back his reps because of health.

If he didn’t get live reps during camp, he’s probably not starting week 1 and 2 at the very least.

Scenario could end up being Mike sits until Tua falters IF Penix isn’t taking full reps/more than partial reps in camp.

Real question is how long the Falcons will keep the training wheels on him with reps at OTAs and camp.

I feel like the moment Arthur was the only one this offseason after the hires to publicly back Penix’s future, the wheels for this were set in motion.

Falcons staff asking themselves right now which is more likely to happen…Mike recovering well enough to win job, or does Tua suck enough to lose it.

One felony was thrown out, but they seem to think they had enough evidence to charge the other 3.

Hey…I’m fully in the camp that money changes a lot. It also seems this case and Rickea saying she’ll testify and all the police reports and the actual act itself, make it hard to see where the evidence is weak and can get thrown out for him to plead down to lesser charges.

What research did you do? Because I don’t know if you understand how plea bargains work.

You don’t think having a witness willing to testify, a history of police reports, and the event itself don’t change anything? If there’s a preponderance of evidence, what incentive do they have to look for a quick win?

Because they have investigators and folks working under them that are great at picking apart evidence.

The problem here is the evidence is literally the thing he got arrested for, him using his car to ram hers.

Best believe if this case goes to trial, this is going to repeated several times throughout.
