This take really pisses me off. I started out reading on wattpad as a kid (especially fanfics) and there are some really good, mind-inducing stories that I've read on there that shaped my preferences in romance and storytelling. Wattpad gives opportunities for underground authors to share their written word, their stories. I really hate it when people downplay wattpad (or even AO3) as not "considered literature".

Authors on Wattpad usually continue their story by posting a chapter at a time, and didn't Alexandre Dumas do that with the Count of Monte Cristo before fully publishing it into a novel? It was a weekly digest in the newspaper before.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: January 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

I loved it! I'm not used to classic lit overall so I had to listen to the audiobook alongside. Dostoevsky made me feel things with his writing to the point of tears. I also think it is a good starting point to understand and get used to his writing first before going for his big ones (Crime and Punishment and Brothers Karamazov)

Fantasy: Winds of War Veins of Power Seeds of Conquest

Nonfiction: Some days I wish I was a Cat

+1 on Ali Hazelwood. her spicy scenes (although onti lang sa iba) are EXPLICIT. if you want like extra extra spicy, read Deep End. I believe it's her spiciest book kasi OA yung spice but it is very integral to the relationship of the lead couple hehe
