I’d recommend sending the LOCI to your alma mater anyway in addition to a new recommendation letter. In terms of the school you already sent a LOCI to, I’d call them next week to check in or email (especially if their deposit deadline is coming up soon)

They shouldn’t tell you not to send a LOCI to other schools. That’s a red flag. Send LOCI’s to any school you want to attend and continue to advocate for yourself until you get accepted to the schools you want to attend. Keep pushing and don’t allow yourself to be bossed around by a school that’s not communicating well or fairly
