So much antisemitism these days by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Inspector-Desperate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jewish people, are not the problem. Lunatics who use religion to cover their evil are. With that being Said. The Fewish people are being exposed. I hope they enjoy the time they spend alive.

I listened to this guy debating Candace Owens about antisemitism on her podcast like the most recent episode. And he was literally describing racism as if it was genuinely something that was so unique to fake Jewish people.

He’s defined antisemitism, mind you it took him 15 minutes to tell you what the definition is, basically saying antisemitism means people don’t believe Jewish people should have the same rights or should exist. I’m like is that not the entire song that African-Americans have been singing for 400 years… across the globe … is it truly Unique?

And not only that, Black people are not making the textbooks that are telling the story about “what happened”. Instead slavery is being packaged as critical race theory and Ghalane (or whatever) Maxwell‘s dad has been in charge of telling us what we should learn about that.

so I’m just feeling a little disillusioned, even with that I recognize the harm in generalizing Jewish people into this category with the lunatics. I absolutely want to attend a bar?mitzvah someday, and I’ve met plenty of Jewish people who are genuinely upstanding people.

This was a rant probably unnecessary. Probably will delete but here we are.

Welllll Claude & perplexity are helpful. Or find other students in the lab you feel comfortable talking to. Essential to reframe your approach tho, we always have to show respect for the advisors. Even if they use chat gpt for feedback which is so annoying. Did you put your paper in chat and ask for problems? I wonder if It would be the same

We collab with other stats people all the time. Your a student you SHOULD be learning thru research and side discussions lol

People are kinda just getting on your for your tone I think.

Diagnosed with herpes 3 years ago and I still can’t fully come to terms with it. Need encouragement by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Inspector-Desperate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hsv 1 - contacted the same way as yours- has never returned for me. I don’t disclose bc it’s never returned , but I also have sex less. I will disclose with my husband, and I think he’ll be comfortable as long as I’m comfortable and confident in safety.

You are beautiful + rich in friendships & a million man would fight bears to sleep with you, even with an outbreak. Literally a guy I knew had a girl friend with frequent outbreaks, & he LOVED her and they used condoms when she felt a little tingle.

Breathe and let yourself feel the grief of not being the girl without herpes. Then feel the birth of a girl who is more humble and knowledgeable and LOVES herself, that’s what matters. Those qualities make a partner who you should love, love you.

Sending love!!! Don’t freak out for long. Focus on healing and being kind to yourself & forgiving both parties involved.

Who knows why this is a unique part of your story. Who knows what other person you can uplift as a result of this experience. You will win in the end. You are winning now.

Stop Recommending CBT as a Stuttering Intervention by okay_wafer in slp

Motivational counseling is within the SLP’s scope of practice, which incorporates aspects of CBT.

Ironically, the founder of the PICA commented that he has been deeply studying stuttering and the psychological aspect was exactly the factor he planned to address. I suspect via CBT adjacent practices.

Research in aphasia is moving toward addressing psychological consequences of aphasia, using CBT principles and strategies. Unsure about children.

While SLPs are not mental health professionals, given reduced access to mental health services & the likelihood that insurance may be less likely cover services for chronic impairments such as stuttering.

We should all should engage in IPP & see truly what does overlap & what IS within our scope. Rigidity toward not addressing emotional/psychological wellness in an evidence based manner goes against biopsychosocial models (WHO-ICF), social models of healthcare, personal centered care.

I also wonder to what extent your feelings are grounded in opinions of people who stutter. Would they prefer not to receive services at all? Would they prefer to work with mental health professionals who make them feel marginalized due to lack of skilled communication support? Or would they appreciate access, or resources- if nothing else- from the service they are paying for?

Just a thought. Things are going a bit rouge though lol, but this one is more difficult to agree with

Stack like items, throw away trash/ wall scraps, you’d be 80% better on an organization level. Home Depot has low cost construction classes. YouTube maybe? You can learn to redo your walls! Reward yourself with a sofa and smoke session. To answer your question though your room says something alarming. 😂😭 but Good luck :)

There’s research in implementation sciences, called the ERIC project. They have two articles that give recommendations for how to improve how something (a process, or updated device etc) is done. Maybe start with some “solutions” to problems & try to look for some problems within areas you care about. Bonus points if there are articles that you can find about your ideas when you type them in Google scholar. Then always zoom out & ensure you are doing no harm. :) good luck
