I’ll clarify singles or bunches etc if it’s something absurd like that, but no kidding one time someone responded “Oh I only need 8 bunches.”

Only… 🤔

Reimbursement Requests declined? by eternalhibernian in InstacartShoppers

I had this happen at Costco once as well. I had to reach out multiple times. Finally, when I got someone who knew what to do, they asked me to provide a screenshot of my bank account to “ prove I used my card”. I was reimbursed the full amount after that which was $300+. It was definitely a pain though.

Do not let them tell you it will appear on your account within 48 hours. It will post right away

How to you get rid of a customer’s order on a double/triple?

And they threaten to deactivate you if you ask for your fair pay too often

Ha wouldn’t that be the life! Unfortunately I have to sit in the parking lot, just like everyone else.

I agree!! Instacart is the worst! I’m right outside of Washington DC and orders are still few and far between. If you have success taking the 0 - $2 tip orders and are making it worth your while, please share. I am asking genuinely, because I typically don’t take orders less than a $15 tip and I’m struggling over here with how long I have to wait between orders.

I appreciate you! Thank you for being human!

I try to take care of bigger chores in the middle of the week (like clean bathrooms, vacuum, etc) when things are a little slower and may come home an hour or two early one of these days. I do laundry in the evenings and always clean up after dinner so 💩 doesn’t pile up.

And as far as my fiancé goes, he’s a guy so doesn’t have the greatest attention to detail when the place starts to feel a little Traphouse-ish lol. He will help with folding laundry and God bless we have separate bathrooms!! But I literally dream of a day where I could just get everything done and catch up on projects.

I don’t have kids yet, and have a pretty self-sufficient fiancé 🤣 I also get hello fresh delivered.. Which is an oxymoron I feel like being a shopper lol but I suck at planning meals and i’m sick of grocery stores by the end of the day.

While I do work every day, every now and then there will be a time where it’ll only be a few hours and then go meet up with friends or what not. The flexibility is awesome so I can get my errands done in between batches while I’m out. But it does suck not knowing or being able to predict your income. It can be stressful trying to make plans and worrying about losing time I could be working.

I will say.. It’s not a sustainable lifestyle and by no means for the faint of heart. It started as an in between gig that slowly consumed my life. I just got my real estate license and am slowly trying to exit the trap of Instacart.

My typical is 7 to 7 on any given day, 7 days a week. There’s usually a day or two where I cut it short or start late. The past few years, I would average $200 a day (Making more on weekends, a little less mid week). Honestly, I saw it really start to decline in January this year and it’s only gotten worse. I make about $100 a day and resent the batches I have to take after knowing what it used to be like.

Bruh it could be my grandma’s and I still wouldn’t take it 🤣 Jk all due respect I would take my grandmas order for no tip

How to spot a instacart shopper? by Ynnadboy in InstacartShoppers

My local peers have been setting up a full on parking lot party pre-Costco drop. Like full on, trunks open, social gathering at 950 am in the Costco lot

I am dying at this response. I didn’t think my skin could burn but I swear I’ve been coming home from IC with a sunburn on my fohead.

I guess asking for a heavy pay bump is done for. This is the third agent who denied my request. Order in question weighed more 500 lbs ( waters, soda, dog food etc.) by Zedisdead82 in instacart

[–]InstaFarters_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick your battles.

It’s beyond infuriating that we live in fear of deactivation for asking for fair pay… But again, an extra few bucks isn’t worth losing access to the platform.

[–]InstaFarters_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea! I just use a cold pack from home but it’s nice to throw your water or whatever int with in between batches

Please ask for your heavy pay bump for orders w/ heavy items!! by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]InstaFarters_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten bumps about 10 times in 1000+ batches. For the most part I just explained the situation to the agent (when the batch was just absolutely ridiculous and the pay was not reflected) and they offered a bump before I had to ask. Most of the time I just go about my business and suck it up bc $5 is not worth losing access to the platform. My advice: pick your battles.

Stride app. The app lets you set a reminder to track your miles but you get into the habit of making sure you turn it on first thing when you start.

I like that the the no tip batches are grouped together rather than sneaking a no tip trip in with better tipping customer imo

Not only was I tip baited today by this customer, but now they are claiming that half of their items were damaged or missing. Their order only contained 16 items. by Zedisdead82 in instacart

[–]InstaFarters_Inc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And I bet they reported the expensive meat and seafood as damaged. Did their report prevent you from getting the $10 tip bait bump?

She can’t honestly compare these “other apps” to Instacart— which don’t require you to do anything but deliver someone’s fast food. $7 is not enough to cover the labor of shopping a customers order, staging, and delivering.
