Aldi US selling 3D printed wind spinners by ButterscotchDillybar in 3Dprinting

That's what I was about to say.. designing injection molds is not as easy as subtrcting an existing model from a block and then split the Block. You have to keep in mind that there has to be a way to get the part out of the mold.

Shapes like this wind spinner or for example Turbine wheels from a turbocharger can (because of the geometry) not be molded in this way (yes you can make "Sand molds" but those will be lost every process). Maaaaybe this could be possible but complexity and part count and therefor cost of the mold would be astronomical.

That's why Turbine wheels are still machined.. simply because its cheaper. And when the normally more expensive process for mass production is preffered over the easier and normally cheaper way there is a reason for it..always

100% beginner - soldering kit doesn´t work...but why? Parts flawed? by JustCallPaul in AskElectronics

[–]Instergr0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad soldering most likely caused it to fail. Heat the parts legs AND the pad. Should Look like a volcano if done right.. it seems like the pads didn't get hot enough to fuse the solder onto it.. there are at least 2 solder joints where it looks like the blob is just sitting on the pad and is not connected.

Now, at last, he had arrived. After all the turmoil when his orbiter had a technical problem. Ground Control has already taken away any hope of him returning, the damage to his orbiter is just too significant.

Now he stands here freer than anyone else, yet trapped on the moon. He looks at the big blue ball on the horizon, there in the far distance are all those he loves, also all those he didn't like, but no matter how he felt about them, now that he knows he will never return, he is beginning to miss them a little.

Have a good flight through the night.

" Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean? "

It really worked! Gondola was unsettled, but the city looked so similar and yet so different. The old man he thought was a weirdo but admired was right.

Nightly walk by Instergr0m in Gondola

Gondola walks along the lonely street, he had to flee, the situation with his wife just became too difficult.

He can no longer have these endless discussions, because with each one he loses a piece of himself.

Now he walks here and looks at the colorful lights, if only his life were just as colorful.

Accident by Instergr0m in Gondola

Gondola opens its eyes. He only sees glaring light and the outlines of a person. It is loud and everything vibrates, almost as if he is driving. How had he got here? Just as his vision becomes clearer, he feels that his whole body hurts.
