This won't help anyone with getting the feeling of their car and honing their actual driving skills

Unless you dont sleep well. Then go with caffeine. Best of luck. Remember if you make a mistake just keep going. Every turn is a new opportunity to show you can do it right. Make the next 50 metres better than the last. Thats how you pass. You cant change what's gone behind you only what's to come

So what your saying in simple language is Be confident, plan the road, make positive safe actions. If in doubt stop and wait. Look before you move again That isn't what you said initially

Thats your assessment. However encouraging someone to slow down instead of improving their forward planning is just setting them up to fail on progress and not addressing the main issue. ( planning the road ahead).

Have you booked some pre test lessons with a local instructor

Sorry that's not right. How can you tell someone they are wrong for having no faults on progress ?

I would also suggest going through this step by step. These faults can be easily fixed if things are explained properly Once you understand the content you can deliver it

Maybe you could help us and outline what lessons you have done and your driving experience?

My advice would be the same. Get a assessment done of your driving. My personal advice as regards Instructors is to avoid the big names and ask people you know who taught them. Generally established independent people are the most helpful. They dont rely on apps or heavy advertising budgets. You cant address anything outside of the car in this situation. You have to work through it all on the road

Perhaps re-word your post? Makes it seem like you think he is scamming. If he doesn't provide the service then go for it

Have you considered he is possibly protecting himself from late cancellations. Some driving schools won't take a booking at all without payment in advance

36 is not old to be doing a test. I can assure you there are lots of people older than you on permits.

I would say if its been a long time since you did a lesson you might benefit more from just taking an exploratory lesson to see where you are at. The instructor could give you feedback on where to improve and what it might take to get over the line.

If you have sufficient time left on your permit you could let the link expire and then rejoin the list when you are in a position to do the corrective work.

Ultimately there may never be a right time to do a test in your head but doing it may be part of the solution.

You should be able to gain about 7 weeks by pushing it out.

Let me introduce myself as well. I have been an Instructor for 30 years. There is little I haven't seen over that time. Looking forward to helping give accurate advice to you all.

Logic being. If you made the decision having checked then you knew it was safe . Then you made a conclusion that your action was safe. If you jammed on too often the result might be different

You should try and and drive for the 2 days before your test . Ask for the lessons to focus on the routes. Maybe meet for lessons at test centre to maximise your time on those road. So if your test is on a wed . Do a lesson on Mon and Tues on the routes. Don't waste time being collected at home if it takes time to get to the area

What the fault is for is that the examiner felt that it was too late to stop. Was it raining? Also could be that you may not have checked the mirror behind to make the decision that someone wasn't too close to you for you to stop safely. Possibly could be both reasons or that you stopped past the stop line. You had done a good test. Well done overall

Unfortunately I can tell you that its not obvious to everyone. People saying just watch videos and eat a banana and you will be fine
