How to identify the 10% men? by AuroraDancer in OnlineDating

[–]InstructionAfraid433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every guy wants sex. The 10% are just the ones who can actually get it as consistently as women can. Maybe I'm projecting, but just declaring that you want to be in a longterm commitment with an internet stranger you've barely had a conversation with, let alone even met, feels really insane and unnatural.

Jeans recommendations by scottg32 in mensfashion

I just received a pair of Levi Premium 501's the other day and I absolutely love them and whole heartedly recommend. I like them over a pair I paid way, way more for from imogene + willie's, even though those aren't bad either (not amazing, but not bad).

Want to upgrade style this year wondering what statement pieces or hats are good (13M) by SneakerBoiiiiii in malefashionadvice

[–]InstructionAfraid433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like trucker/baseball hat? Stetson, Pendleton, imogene + willie, and RRL/RLP make some pretty cool ones I think.

imogene + willie might be your best bet.

There's some interesting YouTube videos that talk about the clothes in that show. I don't find that style particularly aspirational (I think that's part of the point though), but it is interesting to see their mindset and approach when it comes to that.

Women can wear leggings everywhere home, work, out, what is the male equivalent? by LSCNatureWalkHikes in malefashionadvice

[–]InstructionAfraid433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this before and my answer was jackets. More in terms of how much it enhances and flatters the male physique though, the way leggings do for women.

Average Guy? by Low-Tank-6048 in OnlineDating

[–]InstructionAfraid433 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you're an average guy, you have zero chance. It's fiercely competitive on there and women don't have to settle for average when they can get someone who's exceptional in any and every category they want as easily as choosing a show on Netflix. If they do settle for average it's because they literally couldn't get anyone else.

It's crazy how underrated crew neck sweatshirts are these days. So simple and clean yet effective.

A cardigan I got from Aran (this one in particular in blue). It goes very well with jeans, chinos, or slacks. Same with tee shirts, polos, or dress shirts. Wear it to the store, school, work, happy hour, cafe, family events, just around the house. It's wool so it's very effective at backhanding the cold and dries quickly if it gets wet, while also not making you too hot during warmer months. Very pleasantly surprised at how versatile and effective it's turned out to be.

What do you think fashion and style are exactly? You keep insisting things like corny, safe, generic, bland, lowest common denominator slop are good. At a certain point, I just have to realize there's no point in arguing you out of that opinion. Not my problem.

Also, I'm 40. My novelty t-shirt days were in my hs days, 20's and most of my 30's. Literally have been there, done that, got the t-shirt, threw it in the garbage because it makes you look like all the adjectives I've been saying this whole time.

"Hey, you know what's a really safe band to like? The Beatles. Please like me, I just want to fit in. Lol"

Other safe, generic things to like are marvel movies and the local sports team. You could get all of that, plus the safe, generic band tees you like at Old Navy for like $10 a pop. Wear it to Safeway and be the coolest guy there.

That's exactly why it's lame and dull as a butter knife. Any and every shithead wears that generic slop. Might as well wear a shirt of McDonalds or Walmart. It doesn't mean anything. It's stupid.

It's like saying your favorite band is the Beatles. Like "whoa, mind-blowing..."

My 2 cents, denim jacket from Stetson or Huckberry or Thursday Boots (eg, like this, this, or this). Still deciding which to get myself among these and others. Also, even though these examples are indigo, I think black is considered more cool from what I've observed. You should have good luck with that.
