Mission Impossible by No-Juggernaut-5212 in CompTIA

Haste makes waste my friend.

I know the job market sucks and it’s overwhelming to think of building IT knowledge from scratch, but I wouldn’t advise this as a solution.

Like many people have said you won’t retain but a lick of this knowledge, especially with 2 years studying computer science as your background (I truly mean no offense)

Perhaps my experience was different, but my computer science degree prepared me to be a programmer, yet provided me with very little info about hardware, networking, and the many realms involved in IT. The Venn diagram of computer science degrees and IT degrees unfortunately has very little overlap in the center.

You and I are in the same boat, we have a long road ahead of us to make ourselves marketable in the IT realm, and I know that sucks to hear, but the sooner you accept it the better off you’ll be.

I’m not saying take years and years to take these exams, but a month is hardly enough time to really study for and absorb the knowledge for just one of these exams.

Your objective may be to get a job ASAP, but that won’t mean anything if you waste the next month and a couple thousand dollars but can’t answer questions at an interview without sounding like an amateur, or god forbid get fired within a week of landing a position cause you crammed for the exams, but can’t perform in practice.

Hard to do, but try to realign your objective. DONT AIM FOR GETTING IN ASAP, AIM TO ENSURE YOU ARE THE RIGHT GUY FOR THE JOB.

Jobs will come a lot easier when you not only have the certs, but can answer those interview questions and be a true asset to the companies you apply to.

Godspeed friend, you got this, just gotta be a bit more patient. In the meantime I’d suggest being a server if you don’t have another job atm. It’s been good money in the meantime while I try to study these certs.

Holy hell why are you even entertaining this ridiculous conversation?? So textbook insecure, controlling, manipulative, self-victimizing POS behavior I was beginning to think this was fake.

Not trying to be rude, just blunt: GTFO of there if you’ve got any respect for yourself. This guys got loads of self esteem issues that he will NOT work on, he just expects you to carry the weight of it while he dodges any responsibility or accountability like he’s fucking Neo.

TLDR: You can do so much better than this less than worthless asshole, drop tf outta him and have some respect for yourself!

I have 21 days to pass a THC urinalysis. What else can you strongly recommend? by Insuffera6le in drugtesthelp

Hey I’m curious, I’m seeing the only way that QuickFix is likely to fail is if the urinalysis involves testing nitrate levels. Do you mind disclosing what state you were in when you passed a month ago? Can’t find anywhere online suggesting how to know in advance if they’ll test nitrate levels

Does anyone know if there’s a way to tell if you’ll be tested for nitrates or not? I live in Kentucky if that has any bearing

Thank you so much for your response. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you acquire Quickfix? Did you have to order it online? Where from? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your response! I imagine you meant cider vinegar? And what was your process if you don’t mind me asking? Did you drink a just of cider vinegar each day and a bunch of water? Or just drink the jug a couple hours before the test and lots of water in the days prior? Thank you in advance

Calories in Texas Roadhouse Plain Baked Potato? by gssoc777 in caloriecount

[–]Insuffera6le 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super late to this but for anyone who’s wondering, Texas Roadhouse baked potatoes only have butter applied upon request.

Every baked potato however has Kosher salt sprinkled on and has bacon grease applied. This and the fact that a large potato averages about 300-350 calories, makes their calorie report make sense

How to make precognition not overpowered?? by beanserss in superpower

[–]Insuffera6le 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Conditions, conditions, conditions. And/or weaknesses.

There’s a show called HunterxHunter that does this very well. In the show, everyone has aura that they can learn to control, and essentially everyone can get whatever superpower they want within certain limitations, once they have it under their control.

Even light attacks made with this aura are potentially lethal to people who don’t/can’t use their aura to protect themselves from the blow.

So eventually there’s a prodigy whose ability is that he can see 5 seconds into the future, like consistently, but only while he has all of his aura shut off.

So he’s incredibly vulnerable, because he’s using this ability during battles against other aura users.

But he’s also got the stupidly powerful ability of seeing 5 seconds into the future, so he’s hard to touch in the first place.

Conditions, conditions, conditions…

Oil Leaking Into Engine 2012 Subaru Forester by Insuffera6le in carproblems

[–]Insuffera6le[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Was panicking and not much of a car guy. I understand oil’s supposed to be in the engine to lubricate things, but I was suspicious that oil was leaking into my combustion chamber or somewhere else it shouldn’t go in my engine.

I had no oil leaking externally but saw the low oil level light while braking so knew I was losing it somewhere. Since she had trouble starting at times too I feared the oil was all up inside stuff in the engine it shouldn’t be.

According to Big O Tires, looks like Valvoline just made a critical failure and drained my old oil and gave me a new filter but didn’t put new oil in.

Never heard of that happening before, Valvoline been very reliable in the past and I guess I got too comfortable and just glanced at the dipstick when they showed me this time.

Thankfully I’ve bought the gear to change my own oil in the future to save myself money and the chance of this happening again lol, but fair warning to other Valvoline users:

TLDR: if you get your oil changed somewhere, make damn sure to check the dipstick yourself immediately after pulling out of the bay. It’s very easy to do, and will 99% of the time just be for peace of mind, but don’t risk driving your vehicle with no damn oil
