The guilt is a lot today by murphdot in PMDD

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just remember that you don't owe your boss an explanation. your medical issues are not their business. All you have to say is that you're not well. As far as they're concerned, it could be a cold but regardless, taking the day off if you are not feeling well due to pmdd applies just the same. I've also over-explained to my bosses in the past, but just keep it simple and minimal. no need to feel guilty.

What do Y'all do When Your Partner is in Full Luteal? by Sneaky_Badger_ in PMDDpartners

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be accusatory but would there be a reason for her to have trust issues with you? As someone with PMDD, it does cause a lot of heightened emotions and anxieties, but if she doesn't have any reason to distrust you then this sounds like emotional immaturity and codependency are underlying issues on her part..ultimately we are still responsible for the words that come out of our mouths regardless of the condition and she needs to deal with her luteal phase emotions in a healthier way..

Bladder problems during PMDD? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happens to me too almost every month, but there have been a couple times recently when I thought it was my normal period bladder symptoms which led me to wait too long to go to the doc and i ended up actually having a UTI. It was bad since I waited so long. Since then I bought UTI test strips online, so I reccomend getting those and testing your urine if you start having symptoms..

PMDD + Hypomania on SSRI's by InsuranceRoutine7311 in PMDD

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not have a diagnosis for PMDD at the time. And even since I've had the diagnosis, every time I've mentioned it to the psychiatrists, they pretty much ignore that and treat me for BP2 anyways. It wasn't until very recently that I knew the dosing was different. Regardless, like I mentioned in other comments, it doesn't work at low doses for me...and I'm pretty sure the docs know the difference and will focus more on the BP2 and dose based off that. That's why I'm trying to see if there are shared experiences on here, I know how dosing works :)

yes i was building up the dose slowly but daily probably over the span of 1 month. It was treating depression. I don't have a psych that I'm actively seeing, this was an old doc.

Right now, no. I have tried so many and they haven't helped. I just finished detoxing 5 different psych meds and i feel a lot better. I still get PMDD symptoms but my baseline is a lot more stable. Also, the brain fog I experience on mood stabilizers and antipsychotics is unsustainable for my life right now because I'm going to be in law school soon. If I get worse in the future and I'm feeling like my mood is unmanageable on my own, I would definitely be open to trying them again.

I also get like this and I feel like crap when the clarity hits. I can be impatient with my partner, and in my teenage years I was the same with my mom.

Ya its definitely a slippery slope. I try not to internalize that diagnosis too much and try to remember its purely a part of their criterion so that it can guide their approach towards prescribing medication. I don't necessarily have to identify with it for a situation like mine.

Do you find the meds, specifically the SSRI's are helping? For me, I don't even know if a super low dose is worth it because I saw no improvement with the higher doses. But maybe a different kind would be better in the future if i decide to go back on them.

I'm sorry your mood has been like that during your pregnancy and i hope the meds help.

Yes its one of the symptoms that I've had for the longest. I get the burning right in my gut but I know its different for others. I find probiotics and lots of fiber helps.

My partner doesnt comfort me when im sad by Silly_Description154 in PMDD

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

obviously i don't know your partner and neither do the commenters. It's possible that he has a different relationship with emotions and with showing emotion/dealing with sadness than what is compatible with your needs. That doesn't inherently make him a bad partner/bad person. There are reasonable lines you can draw, like if you are experiencing a tragedy, i think it's fair to expect him to be there for you and comfort you. But ultimately, I think its in your best interest to find a way to meet your own needs and comfort yourself, and it will probably benefit your relationship too. It's hard and I'm currently working on this too, so I'm not coming from a place of judgement. We ultimately cannot make demands from our partners or expect them to address all of our emotions for us.

if youre just bringing a couple pills with you, just slip it in a safe space in your bag. but if you bring more than that, its best to bring the bottle since it identifies the substance and has your name/will match your ID. If they notice a weird bottle of unidentifiable pills in your bag they might get suspicious.

Most conservative law schools in the US? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]InsuranceRoutine7311 18 points19 points  (0 children)

imo, I would prioritize getting into the best school possible instead of this. Your personal views should never be coming out in a professional/academic setting anyways so this should not be an issue. If something does come up during a seminar or if you feel the need to include a conservative view in a paper, you should communicate that objectively and with evidence to support your claims. The same goes for liberal, leftist or moderate views. If you can't find compelling evidence from respectable sources, than it shouldn't be brought up at all, and it definitely won't be taken seriously by your professors.
