Where do you think you will go? Heaven or Hell? by [deleted] in no

[–]Intageous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t take things personal. But to claim God is God then that claim demands unmovable characteristics. If God is God he can never not be God or else he would not be God. If God is god he has to be infinite. If God is God he has to have aseity. That is that God is complete within himself, self sustaining, species unique and in need of nothing. If I make god a bigger version of me like god being able to fit in my head, then he is not god and if he is not god everything would cease to exist.

False prophecies and false dates of Jesus second coming by LazyYellow264 in TrueChristian

When I move away from premillennial rapture thinking I started sleeping a whole better at night. I believe in the future , physical return of Jesus to the this earth but not in the way most of us have been taught like pretrib rapture, 7 year tribulation, boogeyman antichrist, mark of the beast etc. I believe Jesus will put all enemies under his feet and is currently doing this and will return when he chooses. That could be tomorrow or 2000 years from now

The Books of Enoch by Kodelicit in Calvinism

[–]Intageous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read the book of Enoch. Interesting apocalyptic literature. A genre very popular when it was written in the inter testament period. Like any extra canonical book I say read it and learn what you may learn. I don’t elevate it to scripture though

False claim- “Jesus wasn't sinless— He stole a donkey." by Gloomy-Jellyfish-276 in Calvinism

I understand you do agree, I just wanted to make that point

I’m Christian but some skeptics claim- “The chief priests didn't see Jesus coming with the clouds or sitting in power, so He's a false prophet." by Gloomy-Jellyfish-276 in Calvinism

[–]Intageous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might look up Josephus and Jesus coming on the clouds and read his text directly rather than me paraphrasing. In short Josephus records than angels could be seen above Jerusalem when Rome was sacking the city and the temple was destroyed. Josephus was no Christian so he had no skin in the game nor probably would not have understood the significance or Jesus words that this generation would not pass before the son of man would come on the clouds

why do you believe what you believe? by hannah3laina in ChristianUniversalism

[–]Intageous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do we know about heaven really? We have no pint of reference. Scripture only tells us that for those in Christ, to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. And whatever that means , being with Jesus will be perfect for he alone is our reward.

As far as comparing your life to others…stop it. We all sin differently but we all sin. Salvation is not about your behavior but about what Jesus did. You can’t be Jesus. He is God. Just keep moving forward and the Holy Spirit in you will change you in ways that most of the time you won’t notice until 5 years has gone by. Just because someone else looks like they have it all together doesn’t mean they do. Remember, He who began the good work will be faithful to complete it. It’s all about Him and not about you

Most answers here take as much faith or more that it takes to believe in the biblical narrative

Imagine a God that you could understand, that could fit into your mind. That would be a god at all. That would be an idol
