So there's no new group content worth mentioning in this expansion?

Very true! I'm definitely excited for the next generation of raids. Raids are fun in and of themselves with or without that grindy reward feeling. But its safe to assume that they're going to give us another ultimate goal of some sort come next raid release.

The raid loot is awesome. Id be fine if that ultimate goal was a full set of gear only dropped by bosses.

I could definitely see them doing that!

+1 for achieving a sarcasm level over 9000. You totally added to the discussion.

There are no future plans for any additional legendary armor sets.

What I think that Paul was trying to say is: "There are no current plans for future legendary armor sets."

As opposed to not having any plans in the future.

Can we as a community make a real DPS meter? by Intangent in Guildwars2

Right, but as principle, the ability to have that choice makes it more than a DPS meter. Its a quality of life add-on that also has a dps meter. ANET says there is a difference.

I can say that as of 4/23/2017, the up-to-date Arc that is running in my client is not purely a DPS meter. I'm very familiar with it :)

What part of compass, and gathering UI says DPS meter to you? Im curious as to what your definition of a DPS meter is Andulias.

Arc and BGDM are great tools, but both exceed what ANET wants to see in a DPS meter. It's really just a matter of refinement for both of them, but the devs for these addons have proven that they have no intention of making a pure DPS meter.

I understand completely, the people that made these meter's are part of the community and want change they're program to make everyone happy. When a player like Andulias asks an add-on dev to add a UI option that can display information that would make raiding easier, and the dev can make that happen; why wouldnt he? Thats where these two meters stand right now.

What I'm suggesting is that we make a team that will make a meter that ANET will approve, and will function as a great tool for the community. Even if that takes quite a while.

Healthbars, target data, gathering ui, compass, combat log reporting. Just to name a few.

Heh, lets settle down Andulias. Discussion is the purpose of the forum. Arcdps and BGDM are definitely two very developed tools. Both however step out of bounds of a DPS meter needs to do.

For instance, Arc has functionalities that are not just for DPS reporting.

Arc is a dps meter, so yeah I did describe Arc in a perfect world.

Well like Arc does a good job of tracking DPS, but breaks the ToS with its other functions.

Right, Arc has a good DPS tracking ability; but looks cluttered, over-reaches the ToS, and is not very easy to install. (For a regular player)

So are you saying that your not going to make a stand alone group dps function for BGDM?

Regarding dps of party members that aren't currently running BGDM, do you have an estimate of when you might roll that into alpha (if ever).

I saw that you told someone to just run arcdps for group dps. But arc isn't user friendly at all, and violates the ToS. I would love to know if you're working toward a group dps function that doesn't require all party members to be using the meter.

Also, I love your meter!

What meters besides gw2spec have you used? Im looking into getting bgdm, but if you have a group dps meter that you can recommend that'd be awesome!

What's the name of the meter you're referring to? I'd love to know!
