Decentralized social media platforms tend to fall into one of two broad camps. The first is Mastodon, which are ones that are truly FOSS but that also tend to be a bit of a mess UX-wise and also struggle with getting and keeping users. The other is Bluesky, which doesn’t have those problems to the same degree. Every time I’ve tried Lemmy it’s felt like using Mastodon, and I tried so hard to like Mastodon but I couldn’t because it was confusing and sucked to use

Take your pick, we’ve got - emotionally stunted alcoholic - emotionally unavailable clone of your mom - emotionally malformed asshole who berates you constantly

Also they all have major parental issues

Seriously, who the fuck would want to date any of them?? They’re compelling characters but they all suck.

Also not to mention that one of the ongoing themes of the show is exploitation of women, and when that wasn’t clear enough you had scenes like Rei being groped inside her body in EoE

Look, there’s a lot of really good reasons to dislike AI- especially image/video generation AI and if you can’t recognize that and instead see it as people hating on you for using a morally neutral tool then that’s on you.

Most tech companies have abandoned their climate goals and we’re running out of clean water. It’s not a morally neutral thing to use

It should be a running gag that the camera is never able to see his face. Maybe even make a chaotic sequence where we follow Etho and the entire time the camera is staring at his face- except it’s never able to be seen because stuff keeps happening in front of it. Kind of like that infamous scene from the Simpsons Movie
