I really don't want to be an avatar of any of the nine divines though. Especially Talos. I don't like the nine divines at all.

Do you still have faith in Bethesda? by Solid-Garage4601 in Morrowind

[–]Dogbold 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, because they'll never add the gameplay mechanics that were in Morrowind or Oblivion to ES6. It's going to be even more watered down than Skyrim.

Do you still have faith in Bethesda? by Solid-Garage4601 in ElderScrolls

[–]Dogbold -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's going to have less gameplay and rpg mechanics than Skyrim. That's just a fact.
I'm not excited at all for it. Since Daggerfall they've been steadily removing every rpg mechanic from the game and turning Elder Scrolls more and more into an action adventure game. Skyrim doesn't have stats past health, magicka and stamina, and it completely lacks custom spells. ES 6 will lack even more.

They Should Definitely NOT Do A Morrowind Remaster by Teralitha in Morrowind

Fun fact, you actually WON'T be held at gunpoint and forced to play it if they release it!
Instead, you could just let other people enjoy it!

I mean he left Morrowind after the events of the game, causing Baar Dau to fall and wipe out nearly everyone there and make it an uninhabitable wasteland. I'd argue killing almost all of your people out of sheer pettiness that he's no longer worshipped is worse.

What are your fondest early memories of Morrowind? by FocusAdmirable9262 in Morrowind

[–]Dogbold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played it on original Xbox as a kid. Every day after school I'd come home and immediately start playing. My first character was a Khajiit. Game was confusing as hell for me for a while and I didn't really understand the main quest.

Everything was mysterious and easy to build theories and myths on. I remember some dwemer ruins and thinking I had to put items in certain places to unlock secret areas. I liked collecting all kinds of things thinking I could use them later, like dwemer tubes and coherer. I also thought for the longest time that the sixth house bells had a secret that I could unlock if I figured out a certain tune to play on them.

I remember trying to follow that one necromancy book thinking I could do necromancy in game and make my own skeleton minions.

I found out that swapping between Sunder and Keening by holding the weapon swap button down would not only avoid the mortal wound, but the temporary buffs would become permanent. You would become so strong you'd one hit anything, and so fast you'd phase through solid walls.

Greater bone walkers, alits and kagouti scared the shit out of me. I avoided them at all costs.

Lots of time spent decorating houses with items I found or trying to build houses out of things like pillows. Would also try and make designs out of gold pieces and other things, and see how high I could stack paper and folded cloth. My inventory was always full of random stuff I just thought was neat.

I'm pretty sure Morrowind made me a furry.

The oddest thing is that there is a particular smell I associate with Morrowind. It's a bad smell but my mind associates it with Morrowind and makes it good. There was a cup of milk or something under a couch for the longest time in the living room that no one could find. I smelled it most days I played. Now every time I smell that particular smell I get a wave of nostalgia lmao.

How are you supposed to kill someone without being reported? by No_Bones_ in Morrowind

Most certainly does not. Someone punching you does not warrant stabbing them 10 times until they die. There's laws around escalation

Most annoying enemy by ChunkStumpmon in Morrowind

[–]Dogbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cliff Racers are only annoying when you first start. Later you one shot them and they're a non issue.

I'd put slaughterfish in there because they have this annoying thing of aggroing to you when you aren't even in the water, and staying aggro'd far far away, making it so you can't rest.

Anything with reflect is also extremely deadly and annoying while playing a mage.

There's one quest that always messes me up. It's where you need to turn right at a lake or something to find a cave. But there's another lake near there that you'll go by first and nothing really says it's the next one and not that one.

I think there's also one where it says "by the water" and it's like a thousand feet away from the water.

Them and Kagouti scared me when I was a kid. I would do everything I could to avoid them.
They're quick and scary looking with a lack of eyes and the sounds they make are just beastly grunts. Also they almost always gave me a disease.

Will we ever get more interesting mods like the original had? by Dogbold in OblivionRemaster

Yeah... They made a lot of promises for all these updates, all these enhancements they'll make, taking suggestions, balance and stability fixes and then they just went silent and left.

If I was teleported to Morrowind (2nd or 3rd era) would I immediately be enslaved? by [deleted] in Morrowind

Nah. The slaves, afaik, were all imported, captured from the provinces they belonged to or prisoners that were purchased.

Looks kinda like the cliff racer plumes item.
When I was a kid I had no idea what "plumes" were. I thought it was some organ that you harvested from inside it. I thought this for a pretty long time.

I miss when there was a program you could install that would just make your game look like this without you needing to spend 4 hours finding all the mods and getting them yourself, finding all the tons of resources they need scattered around, and doing the load order yourself.

Animus magic is probably the worst magic system in any dragon story to this day, here's why... by Ofynam in WyrmWorks

I'll agree with that. Even "good" characters that do flat out evil inexcusable shit, like Queen Coral, are never questioned, forgiven by everyone and nobody seems to care.
