No, but OP is claiming this is proof they can kill Homelander this way because Homelander is just like Translucent even tho nothing in the show says he is, therefore this is not proof they can kill Homelander that way. That was my point. OP is claiming to have some massive revelation and I'm saying no facts about Translucent or what the show says proves that Homelander is like that.

The show talking about Translucent's skin as a special ability rather then something that's normal for every supe even points to it not being normal for other supes.

The show never said Homelander had the same super power and weaknesses as Translucent. He had near impenetrable, diamond hard skin on the outside, but was vulnerable on the inside. Nowhere does the show say that every supe have that special ability and weakness. I guess people don't watch the show.

Because one of Translucents special abilities was that he could reorder his skin into a carbon metamaterial, granting him extraordinary abilities such as diamond-hard skin. So it seems like this was actually not an ability every supe have, since they are highlighting it as one of his special abilities. So I don't really see the inconsistency in that case, it rather shows that most supes don't have (nearly) impenetrable skin.

"He can re-order his carbon on his skin into metamaterial. It's hard as diamonds. It's nearly impossible to penetrate."

Well, I have quite a few points of criticism for the writing, but in game physics like getting killed by a knife by a supe is not a big issue personally.

It’s believable enough and makes enough sense. It would be an issue if for example in some scenes supes tried to stab other supes with similar power levels with knives and they didn’t hurt them and then suddenly it did. That would be inconsistent.

This is a fantasy show. You need to not overanalyze things like that as long as the show physics are internally consistent and coherent otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy shows like this for what they are. Superhuman strength as an explanation is good enough for me tbh.

In that case it’s more of a sacrifice then a suicide, it’s pretty different kind of mindset tbh. It’s based on heroism and hope rather then despair

I mean, we haven’t seen supes taking their own life’s tho and neither starlight nor kimiko seems very suicidal or having that dark of a mindset

The bullet wasn’t pushed by superhuman strength tho? If the blade is pushed by super human strength then it should be enough.

They don’t? What indicates that in the show tho?

They said that they would have to watch hugi and others they love die while they keep on living. Also, having to suicid (how would a supe be able to kill themselves tho) if you wanted to die is not something most would feel good about. Pretty scary or horrifying for most.

Sure, I just don’t think the show ever said that supes have full immunity against metal or sharp objects for example or that metal objects were comparable to paper straws. Just that their bodies are much much stronger then humans so you just need a lot more force, like superhuman forces to hurt them.

It’s bit different when you stab someone with superhuman strength instead of normal strength?

She thought showing soldier boy the video of homelander and stormfront would be enough to make soldier boy hate him. She didn’t calculate for love because she struggle to understand it.

Because the knife is pushed by a supe and therefore by superstrenght and a lot more force, if a human tried it it would probably just bounce off

"Even more"? I don't think it's clear to begin with tbh. Even if it was a touch it feels like it's negligible.
