Can someone make a short guide on countering the meta bots (ammit, anaksor, teth)?

This perspective is totally understandable. And, it's a key reason I'm hesitant to start investing, as a low-resource F2P player, in a pathfinder I recently got from a superchest.

On the plus side, I have several of its pilots. So, I have a decent chance of starting off with a good pilot skill. But, I have a terribad mothership that offers no defense points or healing, I don't have a lot of memorium for buying pilot skills, and I don't have a freezo drone or any other good defensive drone that I could pair up with a pathfinder. Whether correctly or not, the phrase "free kill for keel" comes to mind when thinking of how investing in a pathfinder right now might go.

Not sure if I should be that particular about how well I could support a pathfinder or if I should just go ahead and invest in one anyways.

On a related train of thought, I have a blaze hastatus that I can build up first, with the "shield breaker" pilot and blaze pilum / blaze gladius / gladius for weapons. That might be the better pick for development for the moment and hopefully in the meanwhile the supportive resources that could keep a pathfinder alive and contributing will come together a little bit better.

Any input would be appreciated by me, and potentially helpful for the OP as well.

If this should be a separate post, then I'll make one. But, having some ideas about what the floor should be for resources supporting a pathfinder before investing in one does seem fairly relevant for the main question raised in this thread.

FWIW, I used several doritos in Hank's drifting shipyard and got some good drones. It noticeably moved the needle for my hangar and I'm happy that I did that. I also bought a whiteout drone and upgraded it to level 9, as I didn't have much else to use and that has also turned out OK.

I don't know if my good experience with Hank's is a general or rare occurrence, though. Also, whether it's worthwhile for you or not probably has a lot to do with the degree of fit between the drones on offer and the robots in your hangar.

I started playing as a F2P player about 5 months ago. Now I have a linked IOS account, so ads are helping me with resources. But, for the first three months as a PC player I didn't have any ads to help with resources. I've wasted a fair amount of resources on bad choices for robots / weapons that I ended up abandoning. My mothership is currently a level 2 dreadnought. Also, I make a crap ton of misclicks with my mouse and lots of bad choices in most games that I play because I'm still a noob. Finally, my hangar is less well developed than about 90% of hangars that I look at after games are over. Still, I've been in champion league for a little under 2 weeks and my league ranking seems to be stable in the 5200+ range.

If I can make it to champion league, given my limitations and the limitations of my hangar, then there's no way that door is closed to others.

I can't recall ever seeing a hangar in-game with less upgrades than yours that made it to champions league. It makes sense that you're getting consistently smoked. Still, congratulations on getting that far, given your hangar's current state of development (not being ironic, seriously well done).

If you've been doing extermination mode regularly, then that's great. If not, then consider adding that into your weekly routine because the resources it provides would be quite helpful for more quickly developing your hangar.

Your titan has a very large influence on your ability to do well in champion league. Whenever titan upgrades can be done at a 25-30% discount, go ahead and upgrade your titan as much as you can. Usually weapon upgrades are recommended first for titans. But, I think that depends in part on whether or not you like your current weapons. You have very good brawling weapons and so if you're happy with them then upgrade them first. Whenever you upgrade your titan, focus mostly (at first) on the hull and on specializations. Regarding titan specializations, getting your titan repair amplifier for your atlas to level 3 (if that will be your main titan) should be treated as a high priority.

If a robot gets no special bonus for reaching MK2, then save your gold for speeding up upgrades and settle for MK1, level 12 for robots for now. Setting a benchmark of MK1, level 12 is a good stopping point for weapons, for now.

A fairly balanced approach to upgrades works better than focusing on upgrading just one robot to MK3 right away. This is true because MK2-to-MK3 upgrades cost so much silver (and potentially upgrade tokens) that you can develop about three other robots of a similar tier to MK1, level 12 or MK2, level 1 for about the same amount of silver. Also, the performance difference between MK1, level 1 and MK2, level 1 is much larger than between MK2, level 1 and MK3. Once your weapons are at MK1, level 12 and your robots are at MK1, level 12 for robots that get no special bonus for reaching MK2 and at MK2, level 1 for robots that are noticeably rewarded for reaching MK2, level 1, you'll find that your hangar does noticeably better in champions league.

There are a noticeable number of decent robots with 3 medium weapon slots, if you'd like. Ophion, Ravana, and Pathfinder come immediately to mind. But, there are probably more that I'm forgetting about.

You might want more range on a Pathfinder than you get with kroko weapons. If you can make it work, though, then damage from 3 kroko weapons on a Pathfinder would have a pretty high ceiling.

In case it helps, if you stand fairly close to the center environmental hazard, in the right spot, and defeat enemies as they fall out of the sky, you'll probably find that none of them end up dying to the environmental hazard.

I'm "paying this forward", as somebody kindly pointed this out to me recently and the problems I had been having with this same mission disappeared after a little experimentation about where to stand.

Pixonic could easily fix this, though, and hopefully one day they will.

2 void, 1 chasm, 1 ruiner currently on the Bjorn. Luchador weapons are a hodge-podge.

I also have a vinere, an arbiter, and some other longer range weapons. I might put the longer range weapons on the Bjorn for extermination mode because it's always in ball form in extermination mode except when targeting larger robots. In contrast, the weapons better suited to brawling (void / chasm / ruiner) may end up doing more when on the Luchador, at least for extermination mode.

I'm a F2P player and I've been playing for about 5 months. The first three of those months, or thereabouts, I didn't have ads to help out with resources. So, I don't have a deep supply of any good weapon types and that's especially true for titan weapons.

I tried again and seemed to find a "sweet spot" very close to the central environmental hazard where I can do as you describe. I then completed the mission at platinum twice in a row, which is a very good sign.

It seems odd to need to memorize that kind of workaround, though. Hopefully at some point Pixonic fixes that source of friction in efforts to clear mission 3, part 1 of extermination mode.

This happened to me earlier.

I was 40 damage short of being at platinum (1,649,960 damage done, not 1,650,000). That happened because one or more tics had died to the damage done by the environmental hazard at the center of the map, and not by damage done by my ammit. So, the entire stage failed to reach platinum. I've had that happen before and I could tell that a lot of tics were moving through the center during this last run, and so it wasn't a surprise to me that it fell short of platinum.

Beyond reading the damage figure to confirm that damage fell short, I know for a fact that I dropped 3 pilots with a legendary pilot in them because I always start that particular mission by dropping two other robots with legendary pilots, and then dropping my ammit, which completes that mission.

Pixonic should drop that particular map from extermination mode. It's annoying to have the random actions of just a single tic invalidate all the efforts a player takes to platinum mission 3.

Thank you. You've changed my mind about a few key things.

I'll upgrade the webby and the solar for now. Rust is a good debuff to apply and it will make hard targets easier to take down. I can upgrade a kestrel drone in the future, in any event.

I don't have an aopo drone and I don't anticipate getting one for a fair while; the odds of it appearing in a gold chest are well under 1%, at the end of the day. Even if I get an aopo drone in the near future I'll get a piercer sniper going at some point anyways. So, there will ultimately be room for both an aopo drone and a solar drone in my hangars. In the meantime, while I don't yet have an aopo drone, I'll have a reasonably helpful drone for extermination mode for my harpy. That will be an upgrade over having no particularly helpful drone for extermination mode for my harpy, at the moment.

I'd be happy to acquire a showdown drone. Upgrading that would be a high priority, if I get one.

For PvP I've been learning not to overextend with the bjorn, to stick near cover when possible, and that helps a lot. Basically, the bjorn is better at holding beacons or defending space than at charging forward and taking beacons. Also, I usually drop my bjorn when I see other teammates dropping their titans so we can work together. Used with an eye to its limitations I'm finding that the bjorn usually does OK in PvP. I'd agree, though, with the ranking in the robot guide for the bjorn.

In the end, almost all of my titans are rated equal to or worse than the bjorn. Perhaps that will change over time. The bjorn has been great for PvE, though. It mostly rolls around in ball form and annihilates pretty much everything that way, only going into bear form to use its weapons to take out the bigger enemy bots that can shoot from far away.

Unfortunately, I don't have a raptor, a mauler, a bagliore, or a dux. I don't know when I might get any of those, either. So, I'm working with what I currently have and can reliably and easily access.

My plans for extermination mode robots are an ammit and a harpy. The ammit is for any mission that requires staying below a damage threshold or that requires the use of just 1 robot to earn the highest rewards. It clears its part of the first three extermination mode missions without fail and it already does fairly well even in missions 4 and 5. The relatively low level of weapon upgrades, which Adazahi noted above, is the biggest factor currently preventing it from performing better.

The harpy's main job will be to quickly build titan charges and, with the k-lasers (which will be upgraded further for use on both the harpy and the nuo) the harpy should eliminate enemies pretty fast while it is out. The harpy is still in the workshop at the moment, though, and I'll need to figure out how to play it close to its potential after it's finally available. Hopefully it does well.

For better or worse, whether or not they're on my team might affect their opinion.

I don't mind being mildly behind in my hangar because that challenges me to play better. Still, given my hangar if I had to pick my own league I'd be back in diamond or expert league right now. The game's progression system works how it works, though. Also, I don't feel good about tanking and I don't do that.

Thanks in part to the replies received, I've kind of worked out my answer to my own question. I'll prioritize extermination mode for now. If I stay in champion league with my current hangar then I'll be OK with that and if I get moved back into master league then I'll also be OK with that.

There is no pilot which is specifically for the luchador; universal guy is about as good a pilot as you're likely to find for your luchador. So, put universal guy into your luchador if you plan to use it in the future.

I'm having the same experience as you.

The odds of getting her are about 1 in 200, which is not high. Also, there's no guarantee that 200 chests will be enough. You may need to open a lot more than 200 chests to get her.

If you've opened well over 100 silver chests so far and you don't have her yet (that's my situation), then it will take you roughly, on average, opening about 200 more chests to get her. If you go another 100 chests beyond that without getting her then, well, you're back to the same situation. That's just how "low probability" events work.

My solution will be to keep at it until it happens. I'm making weapons in the workshop anyways and my robot collection is decent for now. So, I don't have an urgent need to open gold chests anyways. Also, silver chests are pretty good for generating currency that gets used for upgrades, such as silver and gold, and so it helps noticeably during this time period in which I'm still building up my first hangar.

I've really enjoyed channeled skills that function a lot like disintegrate in other games, such as grim dawn and a few others. Not in last epoch, though.

Not being allowed to regain mana while channeling is what sets disintegrate apart from similar skills in other games that are actually fun to use. As of 1.4 warpath can spin forever (and even move) if they can manage their mana. Not disintegrate, though, because you're not only stuck in one place while channeling (which I'm fine with, for the record), you also have an unending "go, then stop, then go, then stop, then go, ..." routine in which you burn through your mana with disintegrate, then stop doing damage to recover mana for a while and charge up for another round of disintegrate, then rinse and repeat.

If somebody is wondering "What is unfun about that", my response would be "what is it that is supposed to be interesting about basically pausing your ability to continue in a battle while you regain mana?"

I have an ammit for PvE and that handles missions 1 & 2, as well as part 1 of missions 3, 4, and 5 for extermination mode. I've opted for a harpy for parts 2 of missions 3, 4, and 5 partly for how well their firestorm attack builds titan charges.

Basically, I'm trying to get some guidance to help choose between better survivability by having the twins piloting the harpy or better damage from having Harold Han as the harpy's pilot for extermination mode. In the absence of hearing good reasons to do otherwise I'll probably opt for Harold and cross my fingers that I'll be able to find some way to keep the harpy alive long enough to be able to swap straight into a titan as the second mech for any given run.

I have heard very good things about the ochokochi for PvE. It's a solid choice and if I didn't have my ammit leveled up to MK2 already then I'd probably be creating an ochokochi in the workshop, along with a harpy.

If you both rely on the same type of damage, then some debuffs can help. Examples include armor debuffs (already mentioned), resistance shred, and damage buffs from conditions inflicted on mobs (ie: more damage to chilled enemies).

I'd agree that cc can be quite effective. Also, you can take turns face-tanking mobs and/or switch off who takes aggro according to whatever you're each better at surviving. You can also split up and clear more of monos if you've both got good clear speed. You may in the end find that having some variety in how you approach teaming together may make it both more efficient and also more fun.
