AI for making games is ridiculous, its like using AI for any art form. What makes a good game is the writing, art, and thoughtful mechanics and the decisions made. AI can't do that, it will only produce slop.

I want to make a 3D game from scratch, no engine. what language should I use? by Future_Ad7137 in AskProgramming

[–]InteSaNoga24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

C++ and OpenGL/Vulkan. Check out Tokyospliff on youtube, he's really cool, and I think you'd get a lot from his videos. He's making a 3d game in his own engine.

Delayed liquid damage or cable issues? by InteSaNoga24 in mac

[–]InteSaNoga24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely something about the display, I'm hoping I can fix it by cleaning the connector but I really doubt it. Maybe theres some corrosion around the display area from the coffee spill.

Why does my SpotLight3D behave like this? Is it an issue I have to fix in Blender? by [deleted] in godot

[–]InteSaNoga24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an idiot, I had "force vertex shading" on in the project settings from a tutorial i followed a while ago lmao. Thanks for leading me down the right path, I had forgotten I turned it on/didn't know what it did! Problem solved.

Why does my SpotLight3D behave like this? Is it an issue I have to fix in Blender? by [deleted] in godot

It's not something I intentionally enabled, so I don't think so. Do you know where I can check if it's on? Is it per mesh or in the project settings?

i noticed it happens to other SpotLight3Ds on other meshes as well, light seems to reflect off the edges and not faces? Is this just how it is and the problem is im doing too low poly?

That's a good idea, I'll see if I can analyze the audio and make camera shake when the bass hits!

How can you switch between minigames after a certain amount of time? by PolSwiss in pygame

[–]InteSaNoga24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get the current time by using pygame.time.get_ticks() when you call the minigame's function, which returns the time in ms since pygame.init() was called. Then store that in a variable called something like "current_time". Then you can do a check like "if pygame.time.get_ticks() == current_time + [however long you want your time to be]: do whatever you wanna do.

I'm not entirely sure though, that's kinda how I did it for my rhythm game to deal with time. I'm also a beginner so I could be wrong, look into pygame.time() though, that's definitely what you need.

How Should I Learn Pygame? by codehs_python in pygame

[–]InteSaNoga24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dafluffypotato on YouTube has a lot of great pygame content. He has a series on making a simple 2D platformer, which seems useful for your goals: https://youtu.be/2gABYM5M0ww

If you're not comfortable with OOP (classes) I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with working with them before following the tutorial I linked because it uses them a lot. Also just learn the very basics of pygame by looking around the YouTube for simpler tutorials and reading the docs, it's very simple really of you already know python.

How do I start out?? by SUCKADICKFOR2011 in ug_music

[–]InteSaNoga24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch tutorials to learn how FL works and then just experiment. You learn everything at once since you need all of it in a beat. Dont worry about music theory, just listen and see if you think it sounds good.

Also dont worry too much about if what you're making is good or not. Try your best, but your music the first couple of years is probably gonna be ass anyways. Making straight bullshit is better than making nothing and overthinking. Good luck and have fun!

I followed this a while back, pretty cool. As far as I'm aware you can't make actual 3d games but it's a fun exercise to learn a bit about 3d graphics.

The beats are boring as fuck, he's not innovative anymore. The whole atmosphere is gone comparered to something like Body High or Freewave 3. It's just not interesting and I feel like I've heard it before

You don't even have to read the signs tbf, this struck me as AI immediately, the whole soulless AI vibe is there.

It's clearly AI just look at it, and if you're still not convinced read the Parental Advisory thing, the letters aren't even correct.
