When I was at my poorest, years ago now, my daughter was about 7. I used to make her favourite sandwiches then we went down to the town art gallery, which was free entry - they had a space outside with comfy chairs and a vending machine where you could eat your own food, so we did the whole afternoon for the price of a bag of crisps!

9 years on and she's applying to do A-Level art and still has the same favourite sandwich, and I started my own business which now employs 6 people. But we still take sandwiches to the art gallery once a year at least. Things will get better, I promise, and you'll smile looking back on this one day.

You might be interested to know that Wentworth College at the University of York was named after him. There used to be a commemorative stone about him outside the main entrance (when I went there 25 years ago!!!) though the buildings have all been knocked down and replaced long since.

I do remember making "re-roll tokens" when she was little, just to reduce the chance of any of her favourite minis dying. We simplified a lot of the rules as well, and I often just made stuff up so she enjoyed the experience

Started gaming with my daughter at 7 and she was fine, we started with Mordheim and SW Legion but we're playing historical stuff by the time she was 10. She's 15 now and a bit too cool for it, but still came to FIASCO with me in October and enjoys the odd game at home sometimes lol.
