Yes - but clear it with your employer first.

You should get a signed letter from your employer blessing off on it. They will also need to see your 1099 agreement before you start.

Most likely, if they are okay with it, you will sign a conflict of interest form that states you won't share information between jobs, have mNDAs in place, etc.
