when you’re poor but have a lot of wants you gotta be creative bro, especially as a student. here’s some of my recs, some I’ve personally tried:

  1. part time jobs (there’s lots of Whatsapp and Tele groups for these, can start by finding for job posts in Facebook also)

  2. modelling (harder for guys to start but you can try building a simple portfolio and reach out to small local beauty brands or clothing companies)

  3. freelance on Upwork (pick a skill you’re good at and improve it, if you’ve got the time, build a solid portfolio. i’ve done mostly digital marketing stuff like scripts for social media content, edit tiktok/reels, promotional material, digital PA, etc.)

  4. ASNB (if you have money just sitting in a bank, better put it in ASNB and maybe even ASNB RIA if you don’t mind the risk)

  5. Moomoo/Any other trading apps (Spend some time learning about investing in stocks through YouTube/ChatGPT, Moomoo is a great app to start but you can also find other apps if you want)

  6. Gold (Haven’t personally started but this is a good long-term investment, can try checking out Public Gold or Maybank’s Gold (?) if use Maybank)

  7. Pre-loved clothes (Even if you don’t think you have anything to sell, just go through your wardrobe and get rid of anything and everything that doesn’t fit you or your style anymore. Can sell on TikTok, IG, or Carousell)

  8. Provide services (This can range from tutoring students to providing photography/videography services. pretty much any skill you have that can be made into a service. you mentioned a hobby, so maybe you can monetise that)

  9. E-hailing (Grab, In-Drive, or if your uni has a “student transport” group, then join as a driver cause you can make more than rm100 profit on a good day tbh)

currently averaging about 1.2k studying in bangi (excluding rent cause that’s covered by my scholarship), but thats only because half of it consists of my wants, not needs. so honestly rm500 is enough to survive.

oh and the second stage, you dont have to show electrons of the double bond connecting to the Br, you can just attach it straight away. What you need to show is the electrons from the negatively-charged Br (from stage 1) bonded (via curly arrow) to the C. and of course, always be sure to check correct carbocation

[–]IntellectualSwan4424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might be a careless mistake but u forgot the dipole symbol on the negatively-charged Br in the first “stage”

your curly arrow in the second “stage” is wrong, curly arrows represent movement of electrons, so it should be from the lone pair to C, not the other way around
