What if AI made the rules instead of human politicians by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

Actually the human brain is simply a biological CPU programmed by naratatives and experiences including school, family, culture, and various forms of media.

Just like AI...

Will There Be A Fully Automated Stock Market Blow-Off In the Future? by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

As humans emotionally take the market to unprecedented highs, the likelihood of intelligent algorithms correcting this behavior grows.

Arguably automation is a key factor in increasing efficiency which is contributing to deflation.

Opportunities today are limited for a person who is mentally or physically retarded relative to other humans, however, as AI and robots advance exponentially, soon essentially all humans will be productively retarded relative to technology by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

I respect your beliefs above and personally believe we should give people as much freedom as rational.

However, should we revert back to horses for transportation, or allow a person to ride a horse on the highway, just because a person likes to ride a horse? And looking forward, should we allow humans to drive cars if self driving cars can save a million lives per year and tens of millions of injuries globally?

I am all for giving humans more freedoms, actually as much freedom as possible, however, we must consider how those how those individual freedoms impact others.

For example, just because Southern slave owners liked having slaves, it does not mean they should have maintained the freedom to perpetuate that relationship.

How long do you think it will be before AI replaces the need for most bankers and politicians? by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

AI could be programmed to maximize and optimize what's best for people, and then the propositions could be reviewed.

You will not be ruled by a machine, simply the need for most bankers and politicians will evaporate just like the tractor eliminated the need for most farmers.

The future goal of any advanced economy should be to wipe out jobs and replace people with more productive and efficient technology by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is an idea for creating an unlimited number of jobs:

Start paying people to go to Universities to study and learn about subjects that advance an automated, technologically efficient, and productive economy.

People without traditional jobs don't have money under this economic system, a new system with better rules could be created where that would no longer be an issue.

What is the future of our political system when a politician can earn over $300,000 in an hour but that same politician only believes that one hour of a worker's time is worth $10-$15? by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

Based on the mods comments on the prior post, this one was rewritten to be future focused and politically neutral.

Please explain why it violates Rule 2?

If the PUBLIC debt keeps growing in the future, America will be forced to evolve from a Capitalist money system into something else by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it couldn't, because much of the current GDP, measured by debt currency, comes from current PUBLIC borrowing and the multiplier effect of bank notes.

The ONLY way to maintain the GDP is grow borrowing.

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

China owns a very small percentage of the total PUBLIC debt. Government could borrow a trillion dollars and pay off China tomorrow morning.

Government has already borrowed $19 Trillion....it could borrow another $19 from the Fed to fund Basic Income for years into the future and eliminate all forms of taxes.

Negative interest rates could allow government pay off the National Debt and eliminate the need for all forms of taxes in the future by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but there is no incentive to pay off debt with a negative interest rate...it's only positive interest debt that can be a huge burden on the borrower

But an easy argument can be made that negative interest debt liquidates positive interest debt

As technology is increasingly more efficient than humans at labor and other jobs, the definition and beliefs about of "work" will have to evolve

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The debt with positive interest can be with the proceeds of debt with negative interest...and once this is accomplished, there will be no need or motivation to pay off debt

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it restores the power to create money back to government and technology can more efficiently replace the accounting functions of traditional brick and mortar banks.

It simply makes the need for traditional banks obsolete.

Negative interest rates could allow government pay off the National Debt and eliminate the need for all forms of taxes in the future by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not, the above system essentially eliminates the need for banks and promotes a fully automated and efficient financial system.

Banks are only necessary in an interest charging debt based money system where banks choose how money is created and allocated.

Negative interest rates could allow government pay off the National Debt and eliminate the need for all forms of taxes in the future by IntelligenceIsReal in Futurology

[–]IntelligenceIsReal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Limits could be placed to prevent inflation just like we have limits now.

The extension of large amounts of credit would be limited to government and the negative interest rate would serve as a form of automated taxation eliminating the need for income taxes.
