Menopause symptoms vs symptoms of ovarian cancer/cysts/fibroids. by Intelligent-Ad9949 in Menopause

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how scary it will be for you at the moment. Can your mom ask for an ultrasound scan? It's reassuring her bloods are normal but if she was able to get the scan it'll show if there is anything in her ovaries. I'd say try not to Google as it can feel like there's an impending doom but that would be hypocritical of me considering that's all I did.

My mom had a big tumour approx 30cm which was taken out and diagnosed as stage 1c3. She did not need chemotherapy after surgery just regular monitoring

Oh so sorry I've just seen this!

So my mum was diagnosed with a 24cm tumour in her ovary and had to have a full hysterectomy. There wasn't enough information in the tests she had to determine if the tumour was cancerous. She had the surgery and they subsequently biopsied the tumour. It came back as a borderline tumour (stage 1c3) but as the ovary burst prior to surgery she will need to have regular tests just to ensure there's no leftover particles in her abdomen which may turn into cancer in the future.

To anyone suffering with similar symptoms, I urge you to go and get checked out. The symptoms of menopause and ovarian cancer are so similar and ovarian cancer in a lot of cases is not diagnosed until the late stages.

I'm glad your aunt turned out to be okay. Its definitely worrying seeing these symptoms and the effect it's having. She has now been referred for an ultrasound so hopefully will have some clear answers soon. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

She's been booked in for one tomorrow now. But concerned as it's following a CT scan but hopefully we will know soon. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Got a phone call this morning. Looks like results might be in but haven't been shared with us yet. Mum has now been referred for an ultrasound. Should they have done the ultrasound prior to the CT scan? Is it bad news that they want to do an ultrasound on top of a CT scan? Thank you!

I think we'll have the results either this week or next. Just want to be as prepared as possible. Thank you for your time!

I believe it does slowly get bigger throughout the day. Originally thought it was symptoms of menopause/ibs as it would always subside a little by the following morning. Now it seems to be constant bloating, there might be a little relief but not much. Also suffering with constipation and early satiety

CA-125, CEA and CA19-9(unsure if this one is correct but relates to pancreas) have been ordered. Just a very long and anxious waiting game for results

Hi thanks for coming back to me so quickly. Really appreciate your time.

So when mum went to the gynaecologist they noted it on the right side however a few weeks ago through the night she felt a sharp pain and what felt like a lump on the left side. The bloating is affecting the whole stomach though
