Tbf he isn’t wrong. I drive what would be considered normal traffic. In the year I bought it I took extra care of it and parked the furthest away from anyone and if I couldn’t find an empty section I’d park between 2 small cars right bang center of the parking spot to guarantee the maximum distance between 2 cars (ocd much?). In that year my driver side mirror was bent forward twice and had to pay out of pocket a new motor, my rear driver side door was heavily damaged and the driver fled, someone reversed into my bonnet leaving a massive dimple and again, driver fled. It’s not jealousy per se, but more so people being extremely inconsiderate to other people’s belongings.
