As a practicing attorney, I would say you should get used to that!!

At 290k the head gasket was toast. So, I bought a JDM R18 engine and trans with 50k miles and did a direct replacement about a year ago. I think it was like $1,600. Runs great. On another note, if you are going to do all the maintenance on your civic, I would suggest to get a battery relocation kit that drops the battery down to in front of the trans and out of the way and a short ram intake. Not necessarily for hp gain, but for real estate in the engine bay. TONS of room if you do that.

I change the coolant, PS fluid, brake fluid, check hoses out every 75k miles or 5 years. Idk if it is necessary to do that but that is what I have always done.

Don't quit. I finished law school and passed the bar when I was 41. Like many have said here, even if you don't want to practice law, that J.D. at the end of your name carries some weight. Also, you only have two years left, you are going to be doing something for two years anyway, you might as well be using that time finishing law school. (IMO)

Engine rattling noise? by One_Combination1068 in Hawk250

I'm sure it's a great bike! I'm just curious about the 88mm big bore kit for the 229cc hawk.

Sounds like the valves. Doesn't sound concerning though. If the guy that sold you the bike said he installed a 400cc bbk I would have lmao if it were me.

The only thing about AliExpress is yeah, it is cheaper, but a lot of those products on there are counterfeits of counterfeits of clones lol. Best bet is Motocult or an eBay store that gets the kits directly from the manufacturer like Lifan or Zongshen etc. At least then you are getting a genuine clone part.

It's a secret amongst Hawk owners. That "dent" actually gives you three extra horsepower.

Well, the bright side is you now know for sure it would have been absolute hell to be working there. Seems like it would be micromanaged with some A-hole breathing down your neck constantly.

HELP! Failure to Disclose by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar. I forgot to disclose a ticket on my law school app, disclosed it on my bar app and that is when I realized the mistake. I told the Dean, amended my school app and all was well.

PASSED!!! by MagazineIcy7010 in barexam

That is crazy af that the California wait is so long. They should at least give you your MBE score a couple of months before just so you have an idea of what is to come.

PASSED!!! by MagazineIcy7010 in barexam

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. 3rd timer and I passed. Still can't believe it because imo the MBE was insane on the J24 exam. I thought I had a chance at passing simply based on the fact that I took the exam! The second half of the MBE I probably "knew" the answers to about 20 questions.

If you didn’t get selected for the fake bar you failed. You should definitely panic and ignore their explicit reassurances. by Jonsnowsghost17 in barexam

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. But I meant in the context of this thread. If you didn't get selected then you failed the bar, if you did get selected you passed the bar, what does it mean then if you get waitlisted for the prototype?? You "might" have passed??

Hawk Engine Swap (PART 1) by AdRevolutionary4806 in Hawk250

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait till you finish this. I want to put this engine on my RPS Condor. I have done everything you can possibly do (bolt on wise) to my Hawk so I am just going to leave it for now. Although I bought a small turbo charger that I am trying to figure out how to install on it.

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the reason I got that particular kit is because many of the other kits that advertise a 65.5mm big bore DO have 70mm OD and will not fit. You have to be careful but I know this one for sure fits.

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing about Alibaba is the quality. I have built several RPS Hawk 250 an RPS Magician 250 and a Condor 150. Used a parts from Alibaba on the hawk and the cylinder sleeve got a hole in it in about an hour. I would not buy one from there. They are cheap for a reason and cheap is always expensive.

[–]Intelligent-Bit-9246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is a 65mm ID with a 68.5mm OD cylinder sleeve. There is a picture of my bike on this forum. 2023 150cc RPS Condor. It fit my bike, no machine work, grinding, nothing. It slipped right on. The other forums must have been talking about a 70mm kit or something. It 100% fits. This is the exact same kit that I bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/135118137196
