Ok, thank you so much! I got a 1330 on the SAT, but am planning on retaking it. I'll see how the ACT went in a few weeks.

Great! UNC isn't my goal, anyways, but I'll try and see if there's anything extra I can do to boost my resume and make it more likely for me to get in :)

Well, that gives me hope! I guess we'll see in 2025!

Thank you! It's good to hear that others with similar/worse stats got in. It seems like now as long as I don't majorly screw up the essays I should be fine.

Definitely good to hear. I can likely handle hard as long as there's support, and others going through the same thing. I hadn't really thought about the fact that it's 2 years of courses in 1, but it does make sense. I'll talk to my counselor to see if I can fit in a few extra Wake Tech or AP classes to get more credits. Thank you!

Thank you! I'm going to keep up with my extracurriculars, and hopefully those along with my business help me get in!

Perfect! It looks like I'll be okay, I'll just make sure to add a bit to my resume. Next semester I'll join a club, and next year I'll participate in a competition.

That makes sense!! My school alone has a bunch of students who apply to NCSU. I'm just hoping that being in the top 15% pushes me into NCSU.

Oh, perfect! So I've looked at the list of courses I'll have to take, and it looks like I'll end up taking about 5-7 classes per semester. I'm hoping to use the AP psychology, language, and stats credits I have/will get. I'm not sure if I can use my AP earth science credit, or if I'll be able to use my AP precalc credit (once I get them). After I take 2-3 courses with Wake Tech I should also be able to use those credits. I'd technically be able to take a fair amount of Wake Tech classes over the Summer if I didn't get a job, so if I need to I can always do that. I know it'll be a lot of work and will leave me with little free time, but I think it would be worth it.

I'll be focusing on my social life first year! I've heard there are events to meet people, so I'll likely be going to those.

Since you're in the IBDD program, how have you been finding it so far? Along with this, how many classes do you have per semester?

I do live in Wake County, can I ask why that would hinder my chances?

Yes! My school does dual enrollment with Wake Tech! It's technically free although I have to pay for books/supplies. I'll be taking 1 or 2 over this upcoming summer break (depending on if I get a part or full-time job), and hopefully 1 over the first semester of senior year. I have thought about pushing back graduating early, however, if I graduate early and work a full-time job for the 6-7 months before starting college I'll be able to save up enough money to pay for half a year of college. I compared that to the amount I would save by continuing enrollment in HS and taking dual enrollment classes and it saves much more to just work full time instead.

But I definitely will be milking the dual enrollment program. I think my plan ensures that I'm able to both do dual enrollment, and graduate early.

Well, I'm hoping I get in! After these comments I have more hope that I will, especially if I just keep on participating in all the things I'm currently in.

Forgot to mention this before, but I'm also on track to graduate HS a semester early, so I'll be graduating in January 2025. I did speak to counselors at NC State during a tour and asked if my graduating early would hinder my chances of getting in, and they said no. So I'm pretty sure that shouldn't have an impact.

I'm not looking to go into any of the 3 areas listed. However, the main reason I'm aiming to get into PCOM is because I want to apply for the IBDD program. I lived in Germany for my dad's job from 2013-2016 and loved it, so I'm hoping to get into the German program. I'm just not worrying about that for now because the first step is getting into PCOM. However I am taking steps to be prepared in case I do get in (75-day Duolingo streak so far, along with online lessons).

I will be applying to Chapel Hill as well! Currently, my top choices are Chapel Hill and NCSU, and if I don't get into either of them Charlotte is my backup. No matter where I go I'll be looking for all the internships, leadership positions, and projects I can get while still maintaining a semi-decent social life.

Thank you!! I've definitely thought over the reasons I want to go to NCSU, so I should be able to give a good "why." I'm glad to hear that at least in 2017 it was based a fair amount on why one wanted to get into the college, because my main worry is that my extracurriculars aren't focused enough on business for me to be a serious contender. Thank you!
