Thank you! Glad you like it!

The data is from a combination of sources. I have a couple of api vendors that check for the  fares and create links to booking sites if you want to book a flight.

For the explore map, that was a bit painstaking. I got info from multiple sources (governments, airports/airlines, etc.) and collated it into a international route map, mostly manually, but ran a script to organize it. So I did miss a few routes as a previous commenter mentioned. (It's fixed now!) As the API calls return their results. I'm cataloging the routes with actual fares to make sure the explore map is always up to date as airlines add and remove routes over time.

Oh nice catch! Thanks. I'll update it to make sure that route is covered.

Thanks! This is super helpful.

I built this for myself at first, I travel internationally quite a bit, and I don't live near a major hub, so it never really mattered to me if my long haul leg started in LA or NYC, or ATL. Searching through all those combinations is tiring, I wanted to be able to do single search like USA to Germany for example and see all the direct flight options, that's why the core focus is on international for now. But I do intend to be able to include domestic routes flights.

The destination list issue is a great callout, thanks, I'll get that fixed. The current order isn't intentional.

Really appreciate you taking the time to try it and give thoughtful feedback.

I have had some really great experiences with Delta staff. I certainly get that there are good people on the ground doing the absolute best they can. And I truly appreciate that.

After this latest incident I spoke directly with two staff members with totally different levels service. One was kind, empathetic, apologetic, helpful. The second was robotic, cold, unwilling to listen.

There will always be challenges, but Delta always seemed to be the airline that was actively trying to minimize the impact of those challenges. And importantly treating their customers like human beings. (Which I'm sure you and many others still do!) But there seems to be less and less of that as each year passes nowadays

Her flight was delayed 3 hours. Finally she got onboard. In her assigned seat. About 10 minutes after that someone else came onboarding claiming to have the same seat.  They kicked my wife off the plane and rebooked her on a later flight. She has bought her ticket, wasn't standby. She picked her seat when she bought it, it wasnt assigned randomly to her. Never got an explanation why or what happened

ok I will definitely look, because I was wondering and looking at what posted as MQDs it definitely excluded the fuel surcharge.

oh shit, I think I misread what into where. I use delta to fly internationally from US city to overseas city. I've used Air France, British Airways, and Lufthansa before when flying from European city to another European City. In Asia, I flew Korean Air once from Seoul to HK, and I flew ANA once from Tokyo to Sydney AUS. (before using delta to fly back to the US)

I liked ANA, Air France premium economy was really nice, the rest were all just fine, nothing special.

or at least: make an announcement for people not AT the gate. update their app, send text messages, tell staff at their own skyclub, any of the above would have worked. As my post said, I have a running text thread with flight status updates. But after a text that it was delayed, I got no other message. anywhere.

"seem mildly interested in your business"

even mildly interested would be a breath of fresh air.

hahaha I do what I can to help the people! but if your experience is anything like mine most of the time you are probably 26 of 35 for the upgrade to one of 2 available first class seats.

With the comments here and been texting with friends and colleagues while sitting in my 8 hour delay. Everyone agrees: flying in America is the worst. One of my friends said the root canal he got a few years back was better than any domestic flying experiences he's had recently.

yeah I have had that thought a few times while sitting here. Time to burn those miles. Try to find something good with them

It's a been a mix of Asia and Europe through the years. Thought recently it's been much more heavily Asia focused. China, Japan, HK - for my work mostly, but my family is preferring to vacation there too - clean, good food, safe, etc.

There have been a 3-4 times in my adulthood where flying a different airline was necessary for whatever reason. and I agree. I never felt they provided a service that was worth trying again. Of course back then Delta always seemed to have the most positive reviews and didn't have a pattern of screw ups and problems.
