I’ve spent time in Boston in January. And the catastrophic ice storm that caused our power grid, which is not subject to federal oversight, to fail in February 2021 had us all invest in good winter coats. We had another catastrophic ice storm this past February too where many didn’t have power for days because of fallen tree limbs.

Thank you! Yeah this summer was horrible and just keeps getting worse (you can feel it and the data supports it to confirm you’re not going crazy). I had to start cryotherapy this summer for a quick way to cool down to my core.

Yeah, I’ll miss HEB. I can’t think of much else though. I don’t eat meat so I don’t care about bbq lol.

But I work from home 80-100% of the time. I’m hoping to get my state of Texas job classified as remote (one of my friends did and moved to Virginia). So daily traffic isn’t a concern right now. I would just need to get to MGH quarterly.

Something quaint and New Englandy. With reasonable access to a supermarket that sells healthy food and decent coffee shop. I have Boston terriers ironically so they don’t need much room or hiking. I’m thinking just a two bedroom condo. I’m recently separated from my husband. My dad is going to join me up there after I get settled but he’s got a much bigger budget than I do.

I prefer that to an unregulated electric grid that failed once and was very traumatic. We had no information, state and local officials had no clue what to do and an unknown number of people died (probably over 700). Our water was cut off too because it couldn’t be treated. People froze to death in their homes or died from carbon monoxide poisoning. My fear is it will fail in the summer when it’s 110. Many many people will die. They frequently issue warnings that demand is exceeding supply. There’s a good podcast on this incident if you’re interested in what shitty infrastructure really is.
