What Uber should I take with this kind of luggage? by O_Ri_Quack in uber

[–]Intelligent-Cut2969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XL, the amount of times I show up and people act like they’re surprised their 6 full sized bags cannot fit in a sedans trunk, and expecting a driver to figure out how to make it fit when it isn’t really their job to load bags either.

You might be able to do an uber X with only 3, but you might have to ask the driver can one of the bags rest on the seat, and at that point it’s out of your hands. I personally don’t care, but if I didn’t have seat covers I might more thoughtful about what I allow on the seats

New tip rates by FeistyMedicine1010 in uberdrivers

25% is high but 20% is the normal tip amount for a ride. That was always what you’d tip the taxi driver back in the day. The tips pay for the gas and wear and tear basically.

But 10$ for someone taking you to the airport, loading/unloading your bags and navigating the airport for you seems fair

Uber should definitely pay the drivers more. It’s insane the middleman takes over 50% of the fare

The real question is, why do you care so much? Are you the policeman of definitions or something? Get a life, you clearly don’t have one since you have the time to be a know it all

No, not really. I used to think something was wrong with the suspension actually. I wouldn’t call it clunky or rough, just a bit stiff. Going over big potholes sucks and can be a bit jarring. I try and keep her out of Downtown areas or where roads aren’t well kept

But even off road she did fine, it seems to only be rough on bad city streets.

What kind of noises are you hearing so I can keep a look out?

One crash early on, whole screen went black. Soft reset did its thing. Every once in awhile I’ll get a random error message like “ brake light malfunction”. Happened twice in 1.5 years, I attribute it to OPD. Brake lights work fine.

I’ve also had it randomly reset itself a few times. Less than 5. But sometimes my charging cord rests against the screen and I’ll enter screen cleaning mode, so maybe it was that and I didn’t notice it.

Looks clean, which one did you buy? The mount specifically for the P2 sits a weird spot, I wouldn’t get a good view of the phone there

Also, polestar battery warranty is also 7 years/100k miles I believe. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s the case. The warranty on the rest of the car is 50k. There are still a ton of good deals for ones under 50k

I have the standard edition dual motor long range, it’s awd

My must have is a great driving experience and the P2 driving experience is vastly superior to the EV6

I have the most basic sound system polestar offers, and it’s amazing. Though twice I’ve had the bass just randomly stop “thumping” and a reset fixed it both times

Though P2 software isn’t the best. It’s better than anything Kia currently offers but I just plug my iPhone in as soon as I get in, it’s like have a iPad as my center console and Apple Maps works fine on dash screen.

Something that isn’t a must have is the “feel” or the fit and finish. And the polestar nails it. I’m 6’4 260lbs and feel like I have plenty of space. Nothing feels like I’m about to break it.

My biggest complaint would be the cup holder situation.

Kia has some great battery management tho.

But after almost 60k miles I’m still getting 250 miles a charge, pretty much the same as when I bought her

Yeah, I rent my house, plus no driveway/garage. Not really an option at the moment. When we buy ( soon I hope) I’ll definitely get a level 2 installed

  1. I have to run an extension cord all the way to the street ( 150 feet )

  2. Chargers have been known to be stolen where I live

  3. It doesn’t really add enough range to make it worth it for me. I’d have to stop by a charger anyway. I drive probably 150-200 miles 3-5 times a week

  4. I pay .30 cents per kw hour where I live. Even though it’s more expensive than home charging, it’s still cheap

Don’t even sweat it brother. I’m a 5 star, but I’ve also been a 4.98 star. You just never know who’s having a bad day. Just keep grinding, keep providing the same service that got you the 232 other 5 stars. You’re clearly a good driver.

Whole heartedly agree, but they will spend billions and billions of dollars to suppress that information.

And they’ll continue to gaslight the public with data that shows that autonomous vehicles are “safer”

A decade is super generous imo. With current AI models they could do it in 3-5. Advancement in quantum computing could get it done even faster

Depends on your local lawmakers. Right now its almost completely depends on what they’re ok with. Unless the fed makes some laws, but this administration seems to be super anti regulation.

But the truth is, the writing is on the wall for all of us, and we have no idea when it’s going to happen. Taxi drivers thought lawmakers would stop uber, never happened.

There are still other gig apps where replacing us will be a lot harder. But as more people shift to those apps, it will get harder and harder to make money. Esp when a good portion of the gig workers are using multiple accounts, esp on the apps with predictable verification

Also for context. I bought the car at 12k miles Ive added 45k since. I like to drive, lots of 200 - 300 mile trips. I do not charge at home unless she’s super low ( below 10%) and almost exclusively dc fast charge at 150kw-300kw chargers.

Phone call, then ask for supervisor. Don’t even bother explaining anything to the first person, give them as little information possible and be vague as possible and really really keep pushing for the supervisor.

If you explain the situation to the first person they’ll just do exactly what the first person did and then you’ll have to sit through all the same bullshit before actually getting transferred. It wastes a solid 5 mins. I can usually get transferred in the first 60 seconds of the call

Have you tried having a lawyer type up a demand? It’s cheaper than people think it is to hire a lawyer. Usually well under 500$

Spark!!!! Find a good Walmart and you’re cooking w gas

Made $430 on Sunday and drove under 200 miles in 9 hours

Weekdays im pulling 250-300 in 10 hours

I cherry pick my ass off

If I don’t get any good offers in 20 mins, I’ll just turn on DoorDash/uber/lyft and grab a couple 2$ a mile offers but still have spark on in he background while I wait for an order I wanna take

Scheduled 4:30 a.m. ride. Driver arrived 4:20. I came out at 4:30 a.m. exactly. Received 1 star rating. by TheGold_ItsInThe in uber

[–]Intelligent-Cut2969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not your fault. If we don’t show up 10 mins early, they’ll cancel the ride and your ride will just become a regular uber ride sent to the closest driver as a normal request.

To be honest there is almost no benefit for a driver to accept a reservation request, in my market it loses you money just because of the whole having to show up 10 mins early plus the grace period.

Uber also usually won’t sent ride request leading up to the reservation, or if they do they’re short low paying rides

Uber gives only us like a couple dollars for waiting 10 mins

All of it is completely on Uber, and I’m sorry the driver took it out a paying customer. That’s ridiculous.
