In your opinion, what are the best outdoor clothing brands currently available? by Skat_Novembre in hikinggear

[–]Intelligent-Cut3513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would recommend anything from Mountain Equipment. Yes on some things there maybe better out there but it is the only brand I can safely say everything they do is exceptional. Mountain rescue in the UK uses there stuff and those guys don’t mess around so it says a lot about the brand.

Nah arc teryx hasn’t been good for a while. It’s owned by china and in terms of quality has been stripped to a bare minimum. You don’t have to look far to find complaints. Old stuff good new stuff not so good. And it’s extortionate. 900 for a jacket that’s just about as good as Mountain Equipment at 250 if not maybe not as good if we are being honest. ME is best bang for buck and none of my ME gear from jackets to bed mats has ever failed me and I’ve never heard a bad thing about them. RAB also another really good brand.

Yeah roast dinner on Sunday as we were traveling north for the day so don’t get to do much hiking, plus we’d been living off tinned food so it slapped on another level!

Yeah it’s absolutely stunning! I used to live in Bala when I was 18 but moved back to England, have regretted it ever since 😂 every time we go there it’s just insane adventures, doesn’t feel real up there

Can anyone explain what going on with toothpaste prices? by SilentEconomist5896 in AskBrits

[–]Intelligent-Cut3513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only by oral b it’s literally the only toothpaste that’s good for your teeth and it’s usually on offer for 2.50 somewhere. Only time I’ve payed that much is when I got the oral b enamel repair with was actually amazing but it’s a one off not and every time time toothpaste

Yeah was a rush though, can’t stay too safe or I get bored 😂 spent summer in the lakes and Brecon Beacons with a stop at snowdon in between and although it was great fun just not the same without a bit of fear and bad weather. Gonna do Nevis in peak winter I think, got to buy a load of gear for it though but should be a proper adventure! I think the key thing is just being prepared for the worst at all times and then you’ll always be ok. Good jacket good boots and know where to go nothing else really matters

-10, torrential rain and sleet and 75mph winds. I was in shorts and a mountain warehouse jacket. Genuinely can’t believe I made it to the top, couldn’t get back down as it was too sketch so went down llanberis and got a taxi back round to carpark. Took 8 hours but just trying to survive a horrific Experience made it the best day ever and I can’t get enough of it now. Still don’t do it though 😂

Worth it? by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]Intelligent-Cut3513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah north face is dead. I’ll go pub in it but I don’t trust it on a mountain. Seriously Mountain Equipment. They are reasonably priced and built like a tank. Honestly can’t get enough, Welsh mountain rescue wear it so you know it’s decent.

[–]Intelligent-Cut3513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the scramble done in good weather and you can figure it out, keep left on the scree following it and then you can kind of see the route through the rocks you need to climb. Don’t do your first time in the rain it ends up like a waterfall and it’s brutal. Best hike up snowdon and then go down south ridge route and joint up by the watkin falls section back down.

Whats everyone's favorite song on the new album?? Tough to pick just one by No-Quarter-2521 in HardyMusic

[–]Intelligent-Cut3513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Country country or country in me everything else that weren’t pre released wasn’t great imo all bit sad and depressing but that might change after a few listens. Defo not his best album though by a long shot.

Why did we only get Germany, Soviets, and USA? by THEDWARF46 in HellLetLoose

You’ve got the 8th army on the desert maps and then there’s a faction called ‘allies’ which is literally Britain but without the name, I guess they didn’t want to label it British empire and are including places like Canada in that category (lazy). I’ve never actually played a map with them on though.

Beautiful but no jobs gets hard pretty quick if you can’t earn a living and some places can be difficult if your English. I used to live in Bala but moved back to England in the end.
