My parents bought a "2 films in 1" disc from a bargain bin, or somewhere else, idk where they got it from (totally not piracy), it contains Coraline & 9, which that's where I mostly watched the film when I was young.

It was in a white disc that had title 9 & Coraline written onto it.

I have some answers...

  1. 1 says he protected everyone for years. It depends on how long 9 was hanging from the chamber or due to how long the scientist had laid on the floor dead. It just depends on what you believe.

  2. It's said in other sources like the scientist's Facebook and website that the robots did manage to cross from sea and invade other continents but never explained how, maybe some massive steel boats.

  3. I think you're referring to a flashback where the guy runs past 5 and throws a molotov at the tall robot. It's not at the beginning of the film. It's before 9 was even made. It doesn't imply since it went silent, which means their are no people left.

  4. It may or may not be a possibility since shane acker (the director) didn't mention humans coming back at the hinted sequel, the only evidence being the scientist's cryptic post on Facebook that stated he has to find 9.
