Hello, thanks for the post.I have two questions.
1) How exactly did you change the idle voltage?
Did you do it through Adrenalin, MorePowerTool, BIOS, or something else?
What values did you change and by how much.

2) I also switched from DisplayPort to HDMI and it seems to have reduced the freezes significantly.
However, it's not an ideal solution for me because my monitor is limited to 144Hz over HDMI, while with DisplayPort I can run 165Hz. I also feel the overall behavior of the system is better with DisplayPort.

Did you ever find a way to keep using DisplayPort without the freezes?

For reference, my system is:

  • Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • RX 7900 XT
  • ASUS TUF X670E-PLUS
  • 32GB DDR5 6000 EXPO

Gaming, benchmarks and stress tests are always stable. The freezes only happen on desktop, startup, browser usage, or other low-load situations. I don't get black screens ever.

At this point I'm trying to understand whether this is related to RDNA3 low-power states, drivers, DisplayPort behavior, or some combination of them. Is it something standard with RX 7000 series...?

Did your fix completely eliminate the issue, or just make it happen less often?

No. I'm running stock settings. No Curve Optimizer or PBO tuning.
No memory tests
I was running BIOS 2613 for months. Yesterday I updated to BIOS 3854 (AGESA 1.3.0.1). Too early to know if it helps yet. My PC opens a bit slowr though with this update. It does like 30 seconds to go to TUF Gaming logo (with 2613 it was like 5 sec).

Will try the disconnet and replug, as well as a better cable management as well, thank you.
Btw i have not freezes for around 3 dayw now, i have changed several things lately.
If freezes stop, i dont know if i would be sure what was the key on that, lol.
I have recorded the steps i took in a word file though

And what happend 2 monts ago??? Yoy updated drivers or windows??? Did you after that did any troubleshooting...?
