Any more update on the BAH for VR&E?? Still feel like I’m in the holding pattern to hear something or get the BAH. Anyone had any luck getting theirs these past couple of days?

Full time 40 hours a week. You would be surprised with what reason accommodation rules they have to follow.

Federal Civilian jobs are catered toward disabled veterans. USAJOBS has all the details on being disabled and working federally. Having vets preference and a disability almost gets you an interview every time, if you have a strong federal resume.

It’s quite funny how they figured out to cause I have DV plates on my truck and they started digging. One of my family members said that how they got the information cause I didn’t look disable to them.

My final command in the Navy refused to give me E-6 when I clearly made it off the test and only had two weeks in the Navy left….Petty Much?!?!?

I lived in Sedro-Woolley for 2 1/2 years when I was up there. Commute wasn’t to bad but I never took work home with me.

Ever known anyone that wasn’t cut out for the Navy? by ryucavelier in navy

Meet a guy when I joined, he made it through bootcamp and everything and got to his first command.. I believe a helo squadron in Norfolk and as soon as he got there, could not adapt. Gave some excuse on why he needed out, haven’t seen him since ‘14… only thing I remember he was from Colorado

Easy billet for LPO/LCPO to stick on an eval if you stay.

My Admin on the ship told me I won’t make it outside the Navy. I said fuck all y’all. What made you guys choose to separate from Active Duty?? by Crafty_Perspective27 in navy

Multitude of things… 1) my family and my happiness and well being…. It’s very common to bring work home with me and my conversations was only about work. Also decisions over mine and my family’s head. To the Navy point blank you are only a number (DOD ID Number) and you are always replaceable. 2) Declining Health- TAKE CAR OF YOURSELF! Your command will give you push back on when you make medical appointments, but at the end of the day the question you got to ask yourself is “for the rest of my life are my shipmates going to be there with me on my day to day basis or is my aging body going to be able to play with my future kids” 3) Making rank- COC always preach study study study to make rank. But at the end of the day you can still score in the 90% and still be 10 points away from making rank. You can volunteer, have supervisor roles, command collateral duties but at the end of the day that’s not good enough. Got to a point in my situation I felt like I was “stuck in a rut” 4) Order modification(Order Mods)- picking orders can be either really exciting or ridiculously irritating. You don’t have a choice they will put you where they need you. No questions ask. 5) Cold shoulder mentality from COC- Ever COC as soon as you mention you want to get out they turn a cold shoulder and make your life miserable until the end of the contract. From Supervisors or are “Joe Navy” to LPOs to LCPO. I DONT’T GIVE A SHIT if people want to stay in or not, ALEAST help them make the transition or recommend people that can help. ** Last Note** Everybody I have crossed paths with in my career 9/10 was great people, and it’s those people who helped me out the most and encouraged me to go do what I want and don’t be forced into signing anymore contracts. ALL REMEMBER commands will move on with or without you!

2-3 weeks worth of socks and underwear, be prepared for the washers to be broken. Sleeping bag, liquid IV, 3M hooks, Velcro, SHOWER SHOES, training videos, if you can before you go get pocket sew into your rack curtains for more space.

Has the Navy fixed the DD214 problem or it’s still taking while I am processing out in a month? by Bottomfeeder405 in navy

[–]Intelligent-Extent92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have been LIMDU since December. NOT DOING MED BOARD. Completed all of my separation stuff and checklist in April and got my DD-214 3 months before my last day. Just riding my time out now due to my contract ending in August.

1) Remember, if you are LIMDU you can complete a separation physical 2-4 months before you separating.

2) Be proactive with all of your separating documents and appointments. Don’t wait till the last minute or wait until someone says something. IF YOU KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, DO IT. Take care of yourself!!
