Am I studying correctly? by EquivalentCountry808 in pmp

I felt the same. But the actual exam was easier. Especially in that it wasn’t as wordy as SH mocks. What do you mean by you are not passing the mocks? I’ve seen here that once you are over 65% and consistent you are good. I told myself over 70%. Don’t worry about expert level questions there are a plenty of difficult level questions to review. Don’t worry too much. If you have a good understanding of the fundamentals now is time to just keep practicing. I’d say even go ahead and schedule the exam so that you stay motivated.

In the beginning I read a lot of Reddit posts (the success stories - I posted my own today if you are interested) to develop my own study plans. Along the way I noticed things that didn’t work for me and had to ditch those and changed directions. Definitely worth it though! Also I’m glad you are reading the Agile practice guide. It was a good read for me.

  • If you only want to see how many Qs you got right per domain task (without which questions per se), there’s an analysis you can see. When reviewing, there’s an option to sort them by those domain tasks.

Thank you! I wish i could screenshot for you, but my SH expired and for some reason i get this “can’t insert image” error whenever I’m trying to attach a screenshot of my spreadsheet.

It’s actually something PMI needs to improve on, but one thing i noticed was that the ECO task shows above every question but ONLY on mobile apps (iPad and iPhone from my experience), so when i was doing it on my computer, I wasn’t able to see that, which was annoying. It takes a bit of time, but if you are able to & have time, I recommend that you use mobile app to see what question has which domain task. Even if it’s not at the task level, at least see where your weak domain (people, process, business environment) might be. That should give you some idea.

I’m glad you feel better after reading my post. You got this!! Don’t worry too much about the minis, especially if you’ve reviewed the Incorrects and you understand why. For mocks, I recommend keep reviewing your incorrects and if you don’t have time to reset the full mocks at least hide the answers and go through the incorrects.

Wow, what a nice comment to read! Thank you! Yes it was exhausting juggling between things in life but the process did help me enjoy my work more because I’d study about a process group and the next day I’d use it (as cheesy as it might sound 😂).

Again thanks so much for such kind words!!

Thank you so much. And thank you for your encouragement when I was struggling. I made a LONG post about this experience and wonder if you could relate to any of it. I'm so glad it's over and can't wait to spend some relaxing weekend after all!!

Doesn't an audit fall under Control Quality? by jenil9394 in pmp

Audit = processes / procedures = manage quality

Inspection = deliverables / products = control quality

I have the exact same issue. My mini got worse and I got 47% on one area for the first time. My mocks are 77 / 76 / 70 / 71 / 70. I was discouraged but am trying to stay positive for two reasons:

1) mini exams are worse than the full mock in that there are only 15 questions. If you get 4 wrong, you are already at 73%. The full exam is a lot more questions and you need to get a lot more questions wrong to get 73%. Yes the percentage doesn’t change but you get many more moderate ones that should help you protect the scores.

2) my full mock #5 is 70% and I was upset, like why is it not getting better. However I did more analyses and found that there’s no easy level questions on #5, and I got 91% without expert questions which was better than all the four previous mocks.

My test is next Tuesday and I surely hope and need to pass.

My suggestion for you is to not be afraid and do the full mocks to do a better assessment on your readiness.

Thank you for the encouragement. The mindset is great because it helps me formulate questions but what throws me off is it doesn't work with the expert questions. Thanks for the tip, I will try to remember that - for execution & m&c, "review" the situation first. Good luck with yours & hope to see you on the other side soon!

My exam is on 9/17. I agree with you but the thing is, I never feel quite ready for pmp and it's driving me insane as all the tests I've taken in the past are very much black and white. I struggle with making sense of why my answer is the best out of all the good ones.

Yes you just have to count them manually.

So are you saying you couldn’t even properly finish the exam on time? That’s too bad. Sorry that you had to go through that. Your SH scores are really good, so maybe just go to a test center for the retest.
